Your design is so original and smart that I feel like an Scrooge in comparison. You knocked this one out of the park. I really think your design is one of the few ones on here that is easily understandable. Anybody who's seen the movie will get it. This is great work and I can't wait to buy it as I have no doubt it will win. Killer idea.

Thanks very much! Your idea made me laugh too! Cool to see another take on it.

bedodread wrote:saying "knee" not "ni"

It's just too much of a stretch for me. I don't see it as reinterpretation, because there's only one word that phonetically is "ni" and that's "knee." If one were to wordlessly represent that quote without reinterpretation this would be the exact shirt. I disagree because the interpretation and reinterpretation would be the same design.

I imagine the person depicted here is Johnny Appleseed, who is often said to have worn a pot on his head (although Wikipedia says that he didn't [citation needed] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_appleseed#Subsistence_lifestyle ).

Istead of "v2" you should have called it "This REALLY goes to ELEVEN."

That'd be funny.

i agree the idea is aweseome, but the perspective is way off and bugs me. you should just resub this real fast with the perspective fixed. Cuz as it stands right now the boxes top doesnt match with the bottom, no matter how u look at it

How do you report a copycat violation? This image is the same as another entry, which tells me that both artists probably ripped off the tree with a mouth from somewhere else...

Never mind, I found the tattle link. I'll tattle on both and let Woot figure out who is the original artist.

Awww, ferrets are crazy. My friend is caring for one while she re-homes the little thing and it gets into everything and has a crazy energy level to keep up with. Not to mention that it knows how to escape it's cage. Sneaky. LOL I can't imagine adding cats into that equation.

That's precisely what makes it so funny, the double entendre.

First, of course it's Johnny Appleseed, who else could it be? In this depiction he needs to use his pot-helmet to deflect incoming arrows, as in the perpetual right "HERE" is Johnny. However, "X" marks the spot, or in today's world, the better known Google push-pin.

The arrow, for me, just doesn't cut it because of its' unclear function. It could be used to hone in on a geographical point; or it could be used in a more generalized way as a tool of identification, i.e., "this" Johnny.

Had these giant push-pins been part of the normal landscape (as would be assumed from the one replacing the arrow in my version of the scene), the juxtaposition of incoming push-pin missiles and a happy, obviously unconcerned Johnny Appleseed would have made this even more amazing. Just saying...

Definition of Reinterpretation: To give a new or different meaning.

The original meaning was NOT to say 'knee', it was to make an amusing sound. This shirt reinterprets it (giving a new meaning) of having them say 'knee', a joint on the human body connecting the leg to the thigh.

This is exactly what the derby requests, and I would definitely buy at least 1, probably 2 or 3 of these if it prints. Awesome design, love it!

I know this has the "d" word in it, but hopefully because I didn't outright use it, they won't reject it.

Yup. You are. What do you do for a living? I'm willing to bet creativity ranks very low in your line of work.
