I think you'll be okay. You're using sole elements from within the design. I've seen countless threadless subs that totally don't match, it's crazy. But this is pretty true to the design..

Thank my girlfriend - I almost didn't do the textured shading, but she kicked my lazy butt into gear : )

The texture is derived from a photograph of pea gravel. I need to take sometime and convert it to a brush, because my current technique is pretty time consuming.

Yes; however, do any of us care? It's still a sweet shirt design that encompasses society's view of velociraptors. Had a T-Rex been used, more people would have had a problem because everyone knows it's extremely large and then it would have not fit on the shirt.

I'll be honest; I noticed this in the pre-derby, but didn't even give it a second thought (nothing against you, just the whole cartoon girl thing). Seeing this finished, however, has really grabbed my attention. I just like the feel of it, the layout, the whole thing just fits so well together.

GMV! Hell, I'd vote twice if I could for your ability to make me really want something I wouldn't have otherwise picked.

As a viewer though, it's kind of boring to see the same medium being used every time. I agree, I too would buy some of this artist's shirts as well, but it's too repetitive.
Not saying the artwork is bad, but it's definitely boring after awhile. Sort of like Ramyb with cute woodland creatures, or for having ramen for dinner all the time. You can get all sorts of different flavors in ramen and add vegetables and meats...and bacon...but in the end, it's just ramen.
