Re: Goldfish On Fire

I really like this design, especially the non-literal use of coloring and curved lines in the goldfish to represent fire. The spilled-water provides a nice color and elemental contrast as well.

Those are halftones, not gradients. I converted them in Photoshop. I will resub with a close-up of the details.

Re: Wayne Grows Up

What happens when everyone's favorite local access cable host grows up? Well, he moves out of his parents basement, buys a house in the suburbs, gets a haircut, new wardrobe, works a 9-5 and drives an SUV. But you can't take the ROCK completely out of the man...

Awesome! The shading on the floor and the burny molten effect on it's skin look particularly great.

Also lol at all the tiny unique weapons.

This is nice and all, but I'd be totally unsurprised if the fire was too abstract to not get rejected.

purplefeather wrote:I like it. You can take a quick glance at it and get the joke without any sort of backstory. A lot of my Woot shirts take far too much explaining before people understand what's going on.

Plus I'm a sucker for cutely drawn dragons.

Thanks purplefeather. getting it in a glance is high praise. thank you very much indeed. another like that in this derby is "Yes!". so spot on makes you chortle first glance

Spiritgreen wrote:Sweet! The trees really are great. :^)

Thanks spiritgreen. & your firestarter takes the cake

blammoed wrote:The soft halftone shading you did looks very nice. I also really like the trees, and how their burn pattern frames the little dragon.
It all visually draws the eyes back to the dragon, which I like.

blammoed, thank you for the kind words. it was kinda painful to burn out 1/2 the trees like that, looked nicer full & green

I can't tell if the colors are wonky at this time (need my other laptop). So for now, I'll settle for you kindly folks lettin' me know if something looks off.

Also, I greatly dislike 'Grease'. If only all that combing had generated enough spark to catch the whole movie on fire...

Sandy: I'm going back to Australia; I might never see you again.
Danny: Don't... don't talk that way, Sandy.
Sandy: But it's true! I've just had the best summer of my life, and now I have to go away. It isn't fair.
[Danny starts kissing her]
Sandy: Danny, don't spoil it!
Danny: It's not spoiling it, Sandy, it's only making it better.
Sandy: Danny... is this the end?
Danny: Of course not; it's only the beginning.

how can you not love that? ;p jk
colors look fine from here. love how the fire looks just as surprised as the doo-wop ditty +1!

I agree, it would look better if the heart were in smoke and the people were made of flames. It's a neat shirt, it kinda reminds me of one that was done a while back with rain drops.

No I understand, It's obviously his style. But if you look at just about every other design he has up on the web you will see a distinct lack of polish on this compared to the rest. As someone else said, he's done cleaner work, in fact most all of his other work I've seen.

So kawaii. Cute little animals in a cute little forest with a cute little dragon. Irresistable.

My only point of contention is that when I showed my significant other, he insisted that the dragon passed firey flatulence because of the starry pattern under his cute little behind, despite the clear clue from the dragon's cute little nostril indicating smoke.

Could you clear this up for this cute little significant other?
