It’d be easy, simple, and fast to tell you which Shirt.Woot design moved the most units in 2010. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that shirt is the “best”, does it? If the Oscars worked like that, Revenge of the Sith would have been 2005’s Best Picture. No, questions like this are too important to be left to the grubby, uncultured mob (not you, of course). They must be answered by the cultured, educated elite (that’s you! and us, too!).
So join us in determining the 1st Annual T-List, our awards for Shirt.Woot's best of 2010. Starting January 31, we’ll announce a new category of T-List honorees every day. The awards will include a Fan’s Choice category, determined by a nifty system we’ll explain in a minute, and will culminate in the Shirt of the Year announcement on Friday, February 4. The Shirt of the Year will be determined by a combination of factors, one of which will be the results of the Battle.
The what? The Battle! That’s what we call our addictive head-to-head (or torso-to-torso) clickathon pitting one 2010 Shirt.Woot design against another. You’ll see two designs, you’ll click on the one you like more, and the shirts will move up or down on the Leaderboard according to a chess-style rating system. When midnight dawns on the morning of January 31, we’ll have our winner, and we’ll announce it on the blog that very day.
At last, Shirt.Woot tees will be measured by informed consideration of their true artistic merit, not the fickle finger of the invisible hand! Or maybe Adam Smith is right and it’ll turn out exactly like the sales ranking!
We won’t know until you get on over to the Battle and start voting. There are thousands and thousands of possible matchups, so you can click until you bleed and you’ll never see the same fight twice. Then come back here starting Monday, January 31 to see your picks and ours for the best shirts of 2010. Who will be the next T-List celebrities? Post your predictions below!
