Re: Swinging on a Star

thanks everyone for your comments! ^_^

chumpmagic - i actually did this one in photoshop. i have a little something called ocd and when i draw i tend to get a little perfectionist with the lines, ill redraw the same line five times to get it right and then to get the taper perfect i do a lot of erasing for the sharpness. sometimes ill just use illustrator so i dont have to worry about it but im actually quicker just drawing it in photoshop. =)

Spiritgreen - thanks again, and odysseyroc and i were discussing out of this world in the pre derby thread, the song also appears in the movie hudson hawk, sung by bruce willis because it is the perfect song length to break into an auction house. =)

thanks again for all the great comments! you all are amazing!

It should be pretty good if the viewer is anywhere close to straight on. I'll do a mockup of someone wearing it and post that.

kylemittskus wrote:This idea has been done soooo many times. Yours is by far the best I've seen, but that doesn't change the fact that this is in no way anything close to an original idea.

I did a google image search before I started work on the design to see if there were any shirts like this out there, but I didn't see any.

Woot might consider the runes in your design text. I hope that's not the case, because you did a really nice job on this design.

Great design! The haphazard construction of spacecraft out of house hold items reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes and Wallace and Gromit: A Grand Day Out.

Would be super cool if you could resub with the music for "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"

I am just a speck of dust inside a giants eye
And I don't wanna make her cry
'Cause I like giants.

Did anyone else get a little worried when experts said there was a rediscovered astrological sign? I'm sure plenty didn't notice.

Ophiuchus...the Zodiac Killer. It's actually the "Serpent Bearer," but clearly it could bear the bad news that you've been reading all of the wrong horoscopes.

Oh, horror-scopes!

Here's the star chart for the constellation, but don't miss out on the other signs getting pushed out of the way to make room for the Zodiac Killer.

Sergio37 wrote:in fact show just half sun is pretty clever since that reminds the bass clef.
by the way in spanish the treble clef is called "clave de sol" :D

Like you said by putting the sun there, it really is a treble clef. Treble clef = clave de sol and sol=sun=G note. Another little thing that would make this design even better for anyone that knows music notation, was to put saturn below the lines making it a C note.

You definitely raise a good point. When I was designing it, I didn't think of the runes as anything more than a visual element, but I can see how it could be considered text. I hope they still accept it as being within the rules, though!

Thanks for commenting! This is actually my first submission, so any and all feedback is welcome!

Yay, odroc!

I wasn't going to mention your two in the fog, 'cuz I'm superstitious like that (kineahora), but others have done so before me, so I guess I can give you a teeny-weeny little congrats.

Anywho, this particular design is *just gorgeous* and luminous. I'd buy it in a heartbeat and I don't even have two $5s to rub together. ;)
