Thank you. I am glad you like this version better. It does seem more suitable for T-design this way.

Thank you very much. It its very nice to have such wonderful comments like this, especially when you design isn't doing too well Glad you like it and thanks again for you encouraging words!

Glad that aspect of this design pleases you. Takes me awhile to make sure it looks "crisp."

Thank you too for such a wonderful comment. I appreciate it. As for the breast, they are no more than shapes to balance out the buddha belly (it makes a nice overall shape, no?). It may have costed me votes... who knows.

Thanks again. I am glad you enjoyed it!

A small rat helps a bull hide out from the rain with an impromptu umbrella.

I wanted to do something with a Bollywood feel, something colorful, realistic but whimsical.

This is my first derby so even if you don't think it's good enough to print I would love to hear people's thoughts.

Thanks for looking!

Thank you for the comments. I was definitely conscious of the edge in developing the design and made a point of not creating a border, but worked the decorative elements within the shape. The tones of the shirt and print color were also kept close to reduce the effect of the panel floating off the background.
Here's a link to a complete version of the design which works a lot better than the shirt comp file in giving you an idea of how it will look on the shirt.

Replying to your reply...

I just wanted to say that this piece of yours is beautifully crafted and an awesome tribute to women, thank you for making her strong, mystical, intelligent , powerful and beautiful...this is a very deep piece of artwork.

After googling images of India to try to learn about the country I learned pretty quickly that there was waaay too much going on with the women of this country for me to fully understand this culture...all I knew was that I would want to stand up for the women if I did a piece of art this week...but I felt angry too...and confused from lack of understanding(Of the country.)
anyway...

You did what I wished to do , you captured the mystery, you saluted the women, and you did it with sweet , flowing beautiful skill...this is a great piece of artwork and I love it!!(the end)

Yeah, I don't think woot means to, but they pick some touchy, sensitive topics sometimes for me too due to my personal views and whatnot. Sorry to hear it hit you this round.

Thanks for even more kind words about my design. You make me smile. Also, after reading this, you would probably really enjoy this design, playing a role reversal on the old sci-fi movie posters that always had a defenseless women being carried by a man, creature, robot or whatever.

Thanks again!

yea, not alot of people seem to be attracted to the design... so thanks for the compliment!

soo, leaning toward our left or the shirt's left? to be clear.

AdderXYU wrote:His great works of art existing or not existing doesn't change that this is:

a) not a great work of art even if it were agreed it was a well-done shirt. It's a generic and easy joke in a not-that-distinctive cartoon style

b) weakly on theme. Expression and humor are not the charge of the week. Designs inspired by India are. A peacock alone is as lazy a choice as an elephant alone, if not moreso since hardly anyone thinks "peacock" when thinking India. Does anyone really know any national birds other than POSSIBLY their own and America's bald eagle, which we shove down everyone else's throat because we're America and that's what we do? How many of us in the states know our own STATE bird? It's incredibly unimportant compared to any number of other things representative of where we are from. The entries in the fog are ludicrously over-elephanted, and there is more to Indian art than just henna, but this really is equivalent to throwing a couple veggies on the shirt and saying "this represents the many vegetarians and vegans who live on the Indian subcontinent." It may be true and it may not get rejected, but it's an incredibly weak connection compared to all the actual artistic directions one could take.

I gotta say, I'm VERY happy SOMEONE'S clearing up this misconception. Still, I don't believe it entirely follows those lovely guidelines...I'd probably wear it if it was for an "Indian Pride" kind of shindig.

Yeah, me, too - frickin' smartypants. OK, my bad. I didn't realize (though I should have) that the primary color could be modified or that henna and mehndi had become synonymous at the source.
Me so stoopid!
No disrespect, Boots, this is gorgeous. Though I agree the placement is up for debate. And - rock on! Journey and Queen were faves back in the day. Now it's Disturbed, Korn, A7X.... Still rockin' after all these years.

I think it's lovely! My only drawback is that it seems to be lacking some color...seeing as "rangoli" means color. Still, I think it's a lovely design.

Re: Unfair Advantage

Thank you very much megadog, mafromm93 and cyberjunquie.

It's cool that you're openminded towards the influence of the peacock on Indian art, hardly an obscure subject, and more to the point, that you appreciate things that don't take themselves far too seriously.

I'd much rather be mistaken for someone who is too happy-go-lucky than be recognised as a stuffy old windbag, bleating on and on about whatever personal preference I'd like to impose on everyone else. ::

First of all thanks for your comment. Glad you liked it. As for the question about color, my first tought was exactly to use color to fill the shapes, but since what interested me about rangoli was the geometry, I prefered to keep this "monochrome" look, instead of a more truthful representation of the original.
