Aw yes, String theory : a developing theory in particle physics that attempts to reconcile quantum mechanics and general relativity.

So that's how falling stars are made. It will go well with my shirt that explains how rainbows are made.

I spot a pair of Fiskars scissors in use if I'm not mistaken.

Those strings are probably made from Higgs bosons.

Oh- falling star. I get it. So a shooting star would be the same principle except with a magnum?

How It Really Works:

A "falling star" is technically called a meteoroid.

A meteor is the streak of light it makes as it falls.

And when it hits Earth, it becomes a meteorite.

Perhaps he's near a sufficiently large planet, or too close to a black hole....I'd be more concerned about what those strings are connected to/if strings ARE all that's holding them up....we're good and skunked

It's true - stardom can come with strings attached...

But sometimes ya' just gotta cut loose...

Okay, I'll stop now.

First this becomes the most kid-friendly shirt. Next, an epidemic of scissor and mobile related incidents strikes children's bedrooms across the globe.

Maybe they're 'mob'stars:

"Hey Frankie, boss ain't too happy with yas twinklin' of late..."

"But Vinnie, ain't we pals?"

"I dunno, Frankie boy, The sun says we might have to 'cut you out.' But you know what I says? I says 'Boss, I bet Frankie has real potential, he's gonna be a star some day--a shooin' star"

"No! Not the shootin' star Vinnie! Not the shootin' star!"

::SNIP::

"AAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!"

sparrowhawk69

here's my theory: the star with the scissors was really just trying to save everyone else. He knew that with all the stars being so close together they were all doomed to collapse from their own mass into a black hole. get rid of the big trouble making star in the middle & now everyone is safe.

There once was a star hanging proud
From a large dark blue nebulous cloud
But along came his brother
Who chopped down the other
And laughed till he cried rather loud

I think it's sort of the other way around. In fact, I think this is the "Starship Troopers" Bugs new method of launching interstellar missiles at Earth.

Sadly, I got the movie reference one line into the writeup. I saw the edited version on cable. It was awful and hilarious all at once.

Anyway, cute print. Congratulations to the artist!

If you know how many miles away the star was just divide by 5878639427505.244, the amount of miles light will travel in a year, & then you'll know how long ago it happened. That's 5 trillion, 878 billion, 639 million, 427 thousand 505 & 1/4 miles.
