not a fan of potty humor but this one is pretty classic. Love the characterizations of the toilet and the fat guys in line. The color choices are superb as well.

the coloring a design are pretty sweet my only crit if any would be I wished the helicopter was more in the foreground, larger and not seperate from the main design. Apart from that I really dig the design.

What's up with the images on Woot? sorry the larger image of the shirt won't load until all is fixed I guess!

Very nice shirt, will buy if it wins.

Would have been better if it was just a little bigger.
Or if it wasnt placed totally centric.

I like the cute octopi but not too fond of the stripes. I wonder if you replaced them with bubbles if that might look better. maybe even making them boiling oil bubbles?

Re: Thermal

brilliant idea and agree the thumbnail doesn't do the design justice. I wonder if adding one more figure more towards the foreground would bring the design more together.

Re: Time traveler

the little details really make this and the varied line work is wonderful. My only crit which is small is the tiny clock face in the lower left of the clock... the perspective is off. It needs to be angled as with the rest of the clock body. right now its a perfect circle and should be more of a oval.

Re: Public Toilet

unfortunately for you and a great many other artists the woot-iverse is very fickle. and many well done shirt ideas serve to polarize those huddled masses. your shirt for example... public release of excrement. funny or not? my vote is: funny (also ironic due to the fact that most birds i have seen don't use tp) gmv.

Thank you for the critic. I did originally have the helicopter inside the design. Maybe I should have just left it there. I thought I already made the helicopter too large, but I might mess around with it later and see what it looks like larger. It does make sense.. I suppose my fear was it would overpower the design. Silly silly fears.

Bubbles is something I hadn't thought of before. Darnit, now I wish that I had because I like that idea. That may have been worth re-subbing for but I don't have time to re-work it. *sadface*

Re: Its T-Shirt Time

This is going to get rejected for at least 3 different things:

1) Text
2) No shirt template
and most importantly,
3) Blatantly stealing someone else's work. (the clock, tee shirt, and tea pot)

lilaviel wrote:I couldn't agree with you more. Although I would add that this isn't an art competition. Being an artist myself, I don't think it's fair when good art is forced to compete. This is a shirt competition. You get in to rough territory by calling it anything else.

This is a shirt competition, I think the problem people have is that at woot you come to expect clever, well drawn shirts. This may be well done (if not well edited, it still admittedly has a quality of finesse to it) but it's not clever. It's a tired joke that has not been reinterpreted. So ramy added a fanny pack. Big deal, it doesn't change the joke at all. When I buy a woot shirt I want it to not be something I could get at any store in the mall, I want it to show intelligence, which this shirt does not.

I'm not saying that as a blanket statement none of ramy's work shows intelligence, I've seen quite a few of his cutesy shirts with the same kind of characters even that are clever or have made me laugh, this just isn't one of them and I don't think it belongs in the fog.

Re: time-travelling t-rex!

I'm usually a sucker for a TARDIS shirt (I own at least a few from both woot and teefury) but I can't get behind this one for a couple of reasons.

A. The hordes of Genghis Khan couldn't get through the TARDIS doors, yet a measly dinosaur can crush it? Nuh uh.
B. The TARDIS has a wood outside, it would not crunch like that but rather splinter. (see series 5)

EDIT: Also, that's not even a proper TARDIS, the TARDIS has 3 wood panels (on each side) below the windows.
