I actually did a version without the swirls. I got worried it was too plain. Maybe my instincts were right. Thanks for your thoughts. Maybe I'll do a ver 2.

For what it's worth, I think this is amazing. You guys are such a great team, and it's such a treat to see what you bring to the table week after week.

I love this website! ^^

Original? Too restricting here. Creative? Abso-friggin-lutely. Artists need not be tremendously original to be insanely creative. Look at Tarantino's entire filmography.

Edit: I promise I will desist now, ThunderThighs. If you wish to delete this post, I'll understand.

I would totally wear this shirt, and I may even buy it.
The format and subject matter are totally overused, but... I like penguins, and I like big headphones. I'm sorry.

I'd like to comment on this comment as well.

Um yeah. They made Cthulhu's face out of a record and a tape cassette. If you've seen someone execute a concept this awesome prior, I'd love to see it. In the meantime, with all due respect, I believe you might be a little confused.

Please feel free to delete my comment if you deem it necessary.

Re: Killer Road Trip

Based on "vinyl killer van" record players. They're toy vans that have a record needle and a speaker built in and they drive right around the record. In this design the road is the record.

HaHA! *loves* This is so awesome. GMV, most definitely! I would murder people to get this shirt, I love it that much. If it doesn't win here, you really have to sub it somewhere else so I can purchase a few to wear everywhere and feel awesome in.

I'm a huge history geek and I already wear Edwardian clothes and a hat like that around to normal places like the grocery store, so this shirt would just complete me. :D

I love whatever you would call that fantastic style of drawing *is not learned in the creation of shirt designs*, it really gives that extra something to the design and I love the puttees, they really add to the vintage feel, though the history geek in me points out that puttees were almost exclusively part of a war-time uniform and would not normally be worn by this gentleman. Still, I love it!

I call upon all the divine blessings I may have to get this shirt printed. Good luck!

It couldn't have been worse than those flimsy records that they'd pack in magazines. I'm not sure I was ever able to successfully play those things.

Ooo, classy. ^_^
One question: is the shirt color supposed to be maroon or brown? The background/thumbnail look maroon, but the shirt looks brown. Or is it just my screen?

Re: Music Never Dies

This shirt is so beautiful and mesmerizing... I found myself staring at it for about half an hour before I remembered to scroll down and comment. There's just so much to it. The colors are great, shading is prime, concept is amazing, and it has fire... I like fire. It's like a blend of everything awesome. I really hope this makes production! Until then hopefully I can stop staring at... mmmm... fire

Now 100% chock full of little wind-up robots!

You have a cool daughter.

Diana, you have a cool mother.

I am also cool as well.

As to artist catching a break I'm sure the woot team saves some of the entrys for later. if not I would like them to. I've seen some really horrible shirts on this site that did not sell well. have you noticed the tally on the first time buyers? I understand vintage wooters may be sick of certain themes but for those of us that are new to the site, if we like it we like it. no need to be a art snob about tshirts. If you truely surrport an artist that dose not win in a derby send them an email asking them to place it on redbubble or cafe express or if they can take it to a shirt printer for you. Also some might send you the file so you can go print it your self. In the end this is a store woot makes $, the fact they have derbys is unique and surrports peoples art. even if you dont win, you still feel good about the votes and comments you got.

There are many designs that are beautiful pieces of art work, I print them out and stick them on my wall. I don't always want to walk around in a artsie tshirt that blends in. When I buy tshirts I think of the reactions I will get or the reactions of the people I give them to. Cute and funny wins for the smile it puts on peoples faces. It's better then a ? and having to explain it's message or referance.
