I feel like there should be a tribute to the recently extinct Eastern Cougar, which (once upon a time) had a home in the woodlands.

There's debate as to whether or not the Eastern Cougar is in fact a separate species though.

But, the big concern about having them as a companion pet is how your state handles rabies vaccines. Cat vaccines are effective in skunks, but not all states accept that, so if your pet skunk bites someone, it HAS to be tested...and the test is lethal. :/

I didn't realize there were domesticated lines...that's good to know. And yeah, the rabies testing makes me sad. Fortunately, I have been vaccinated (used to do field research on bats -- love those little guys!), but since most people aren't, you'd have to really protect your pet to keep it from getting "in trouble" if something went wrong.

Chump managed to muster up a poop joke. but it's not a "rejected: nope" poop jokes; it's classy, highbrow stuff.

It was just going to be a "Hoo's Hoo" that took a turn for the best.... sorry, can't share it yet. I must be a surprise

Edit: Wow! lots of boo-boos in that writing. Me leave for all to sees.

I'm thinking cream shirt with a warm brown and a pale brown. Pretty much what's there ^. I like the simplicity of it, but it might be better liked with greens and blues in there too...

I think very subtle uses of greens and blues could be beneficial to the shirt. I wouldn't go all out in-your-face colors, but just the right touch could really make the design pop. I would just try to accent some parts with colors.

Just don't let them overwhelm the design. It's important the simplicity of the design doesn't get lost.

Honestly though, if your original vision was 2 colors on cream, you might be better off sticking with it. Trying to shoehorn colors in when you don't have that image in your head can lead to disaster.

Wasn't there already a shirt that was like that?

Perhaps it could be cleverly manipulated to include a bunny in a red cloak with zombie eyes.

Eudyptula spica is a crafty little bird, living near lakes and ponds which contain fish and bugs for them to eat. Their brown coat enables them to hide from their predators in the murky depths as well as amongst the trees. This penguin is a noble creature, one which must be respected and treated with caution. Its sharp beak makes it a beautiful, but deadly addition to the woodland ecosystem.

WHY? Why would you do that? Though, thankfully, I think the critter is extinct, no?

RIP, Eastern Cougar. Another endangered animal is the Florida panther which I have seen only in zoos. A design with any cougar would be very nice.

Or, extinct, by direct correlation. Besides, why not just a cougar? Do we need to make a distinction for a Woot tee? This ain't NWF, after all.

I'm planning to ink it up with nice, angular, wood grained logs everywhere. Give it a fun, high contrast style. Very chunky.

Do you think this would fly as a 2 color illustration? Or would it be better in full color?

GO!!! On the name. Hoping your two colors aren't these, though.
How about some soft blue-green-brown watercolors?

But you'd have to include the animals to meet the derby rules. Hopefully, not in a graphic, 'kill the wabbit' way.

The distinction needs to be made because the shirt is a tribute to an animal gone. The design will make that clear. Not just any "cougar" would work.

But fine. Obviously similar-looking examples exist in this case so you could rationalize, but what if someone wanted to use a Dodo? They lived in the forest and have no real modern equivalent.

Heck, now that I think about it, I can already come up with a half-dozen good Dodo ideas...

If someone was really set on using a penguin, this might work.

The Yellow-eyed Penguin often nests in forests or scrubs in New Zealand. I'm sure the powers that be would be tempted to reject it on principal alone, but it exists.

Well yea, I'll include them, but itd either be that there are the round red/white targets to shoot and shooting the animals makes you lose points.

or a kills the wabbit Elmer fudd reference, haha

We shall see

All I can think about right now is the scene from the Swan Princess where the servants are dressed up as animals (woodland) and the prince is shooting them with those weird arrows, "DUCK!"

Love the design. Maybe add a land-based creature at the bottom on the off chance the rejectionator thinks you're not on theme?

Looks neat. I agree with some others though - right in the bottom middle you're missing a prime opportunity for some type of woodland silhouette that will make it even more on theme and probably add a little bit of depth to the design. Cool though. I think it's interesting that you've developed this style/color combination.

What do I think? I think it looks fantastic! I agree that some animal silhouettes at the bottom would help, but I love the flat negative space vs. the bright, half-abstract sun.

I feel that adding other animal silhouettes would take away from the overall design. I'm willing to risk rejection on this, though I don't see how birds would be any less "woodland animals" than squirrels or bunnies.

Hmmm. I disagree, if only because, after REALLY looking at it, it seems the lower edge of the design is flat - static. A silhouette or two - small ones - would break it up. A wolf head? Deer?

Oddly enough, I wanted it to look like swarming bats, but I didn't want to draw bats. I think adding an animal sounds like a good idea, but adding anything just ruins the flow of it for me. I tried, just to see how is would look and didn't like it at all.

Just changing them to bats wouldn't work. You'd want the streaming flow -- a line widening out -- from the bottom as though they were leaving a cave.

I'm not keen on the idea of just smacking an animal on it to make it fit. Not sure how woodland it is though. Then again, I'm not shirt staff and have no say in any of their decisions.
