I wonder how strict the judging is going to be. Because I see several submissions that don't really resemble anything like a woodcut. Sure, they have 1 or 2 colors, but don't look like the style I think woot was hoping for.
Re: Imagination Takes Flight
Very artistic. I like how the texture on the twigs mimcs the pages. Great work Ramy.

Agreed. Really weird and awesomely well done sir. A+ +1= MY VOTE FOR YOU.
Re: BUNDITO!
Great character sir. I love the detail on his hat as well.
Re: dead ice hole
Check out the booty on those penguins. :D I love the shapes you've used here, parrotworks.
Re: Hooot
Love the dark and simple look.
Here is a larger view of the design. Thanks for looking!
Oops, sorry, I meant here...
Re: Woodcut Kitty Bear
Here is my 11-year-old's entry for this week's derby. I think she was channeling scientist of old. You know, the ones who would draw pictures of their latest finds while they were off on voyages far, far from home. This could very well be a long-extinct creature that is now known only from the woodcut drawing that was recently discovered. Could be...

Re: Stars Entangled
Re: Carving Hands
Love it.
Re: Gallows Humor
Gallows Humor I hope you like it! Some detail here:
Re: Caught
I've been waiting for a good wood cut version of an arrow with a hole in the tip that also exhibited a graphical representation of the Doppler effect along the arrow shaft! Good job. GMV. Name seems unrelated though...
Haha, awesome. :D

Ramb, im not going to lie, I normally hate your shirts, and often hope they go away in the reckoning, however this is the best design I have ever seen you make. I would be happy to buy this shirt and wear it proudly. Amazing job!
LOVE THIS. Very clever.
This is awesome. You were who I thought of with this derby, because a lot of your designs have a woodcut feel to them.
I need this shirt!
Re: deception
Thanks guys. Means a lot coming from the three of you
Personally I am glad to see you have strayed a bit from your usual cutsie designs
A genuinely creative design of the kind that I would be pleased to buy and wear and which I would love to see become the standard for all submissions in every derby? Ramyb....Im shocked. If you keep making designs like this, you can ..... be genuinely respected as an artist! I would really encourage you to do that.
Re: Saint George and The Dragon
nice! the dragons head kinda reminds me of a gremlin!

me too, also he's the best at using limited colors
Re: Sea Legend
This? I really love. Best of luck to the design.
Beautiful! Exactly the type of shirt I was hoping would come out of this derby. I look forward to when it prints and I pick one up
Re: Rainy Souls
you really need to stop taking first place.

And great humor...+1 W.A.
this is great, as usual. and it will get my vote. but what does it have to do with the theme? how can i possibly get "wood carving" from this? not a naysayer, i love the design, as i love all of your designs. but i just had to ask.
Re: Unicycle Hero
Late World War I, one man was the pinnacle in turning the tides of victory for the allies. He was called the Unicycle Hero...and sometimes Paul.
Just....wow.....the level of sketchy detail here is inspiring. I love this so much.
seems to me that a lot of these are just really cool graphic images sans the theme. this is becoming a recurring thing here.
Re: Nature loves technology
What? No Roomba! Oh yeah, Nature hates those.
anidi79 wrote:Thanks Lovechey for the positive feedback... I'll try it out!
Definitely would get my vote if it were on cream (i.e. so it the background color and shirt color matching). Love the monster!
yeeeeeeeeee-owza! this is awesome.
Badunkadunk penguins. :D
Typically I dislike the use of bunnies, but this I like.
What a fitting title =) Good work this week. We should see more like this from you.
