It's a valid critique. Liking a piece or an artist doesn't mean that others don't have valid, differing views about the art. It also doesn't mean that one should imply that said criticism has been made simply to find fault and is not honest.
paigeg wrote:Awesome. Absurdly beautiful. And beautifully absurd! I'll agree the sizing is a bit much. A small design would allow for moving the chop to a more appropriate place. But I like!
thanks! When I can, I will put it for sale on RedBubble. Ill change the size and everything then, and peoples can buy it if yous wants
Awww, I love this so much and wish I could wear it.
I love this. You should try to get it printed elsewhere. I like the cream, but I don't like wearing cream much though. Did you try any other shirt colors?
Johndis5 wrote:I thought you weren't suppose to use gradients to highlight the design. What's going on with that?
If you look at the thumbnail of the shirt itself, you'll see that there is no gradient. It's only in the thumbnail of the design.

Ideally the shirt would go onto a light gray - the dark gray woot offered didn't offer enough contrast to the black, so I went with cream. Considering that, and the fact that I entered at the last minute, the scoring was encouraging, so I may well rework it for submission elsewhere. Hopefully I'll have time to work on this week's derby before Tuesday. Being a grown man is rough sometimes.
Re: Toro
I've been looking into something cranberry for a while, and this will do just the trick. Want want want want want want
Sphinxworks wrote:Any color suggestions?
Try differentiating line weights and pretty much any color but heather.

But this is red, not cranberry.
Re: Dressed so sharp
Wow Thanks for the support guys!
Re: Hooot
This is really a wonderful design. If it doesn't win I will commit random acts of violence.
If the book was on fire, I would wear it.
jeanerz13 wrote:That isn't how the double takes work...the woot staff choose a few non-winners from each derby and they get entered into the double take. You can't just "submit it again" for the double take...

Inspired by the crossgen comic of the same title? The path? It featured a monk in that style of hat forced to take up his brothers legacy as warrior.
Might have to buy yet another t-shirt here... This is gonna be an expensive habit, huh? I'd be in for one of these.

i will totally buy one!
Re: To Air
I want it!
Yes. I love the design. But had same 1st thought. Hard to see. Try basic white on black. I bet it would pop.
Did no one else notice that it looks like a scene in "Bladerunner"....?

Haha, that was my first thought. Even though it might not, it does :D Amazing shirt.
really sad this did not get top 3 =(
Re: Breezy Imagination2
I really, really, really, want this shirt. Apparently it wasn't chosen. :-( http://dangerismymiddlename.com
Re: Surprise!!!
What a wonderful design. I hope it gets some love and is printed at another site. I'll be very happy to pick one up, when it does.
Sadly, it didn't make it this weekend, but I hope you submit it at another site, Walmazan. This was so wonderfully done, witty, and fit the theme perfectly. If it prints elsewhere, I'm in for one!

Completely agree. I want two - one for me, and one as a Christmas gift for a friend who will love it. Hope it gets an HM and a chance in the reprint derby, but if not, please submit it elsewhere!
I've yet to buy a shirt from Woot because even though a lot of the designs are stellar, i'd never wear them. Everytime a shirt comes around that i'd love to buy, it falls just short. I thought for sure that your shirt was destined to print and that I'd be the happy owner of my first Woot shirt. Alas, I should've known that two far less awesome shirts would print... a shirt Woot virgin I remain. Great job though, I loved this design!
Re: Gallows Humor
Of all of the fogged designs, this is the only one that really captures the spirit of the derby. The voters are asses for not getting this printed.
This is the most beautiful design I have seen on woot. Absolutely lovely.
Re: Who needs snow?
I want this one. I love snow but live in the south.
Re: What time is it?

It's a carp pretending to be a cat fish by wearing a mask. Apparently the little girl is homicidal to carp.
I WANT THIS SHIRT!
Make sure you plop a link here when you do.
I want it.
Re: Woodcut
OK, I'm a few weeks too late, but I think this is brilliant!
Honestly, this is the most beautiful derby there's been in a while. I would love to see one like it get run again, even if just so that a lot of these shirts get a second chance.
Just saw this on the blog - "The horrible truth is the other wing is full of crack rocks." - Shirt.Woot Staff Too funny, lol.
