Re: My Pet Turtle Weighs 6 Balloons

How much lighter than air is helium?

My pet turtle weighs six balloons... whoops, forgot to tie him to the table. Say hi to the moon for me, sky-turtle!

This is six colors on light blue. Here's a close-up:

Check out a BIG VERSION here.

Thanks for looking, please vote if you like my design! ^__^

This is why kids shouldn't be allowed to experiment on their pets (or watch TV for that matter).

Re: Just Add Love

Just add sun, water, music and... love!<3

Thanks for the pre-derby thread help. This went through a lot of layouts... was hard deciding on which one.

Edit:
Another version submitted with layout changes, please vote there!

Behold the pickle!
Look, it's food fueling food.
This is combining two of my favorite old-school science experiments. The potato battery, and the pickle light.

Re: Glass bottle vacuum

This design shows an experiment using a glass bottle and matches to create a vacuum powerful enough to suck in a hard boiled egg.

Re: Death by chocolate!

If you gave the marshmallow figures some time to react before they were doused with molten chocolate, your study would have been a tad more accurate.

Special thanks to rogerrogerroger, gutfeeling, ressamac, citizencoyote, blinddog3d, and raerae104 in the derby discussion thread for convincing me this design met shirt.woot humor standards. raerae104, i read your comment a little after i finished sry, i don't know if a rearing peep is as aesthetically pleasing as a horse, but if people start backing up that idea i'm down.

There is certainly a precedent set for that. We will see how strongly they stick to that.

There is actually a very strong precendent set against that. I believe there was one entry long ago that was rejected, people made a big stink about it, and no others have been rejected since.

I actually did this project with a deer skeleton when I was in 7th grade... my science teacher handed me a bag of deer bones and said have fun! I actually loved the project lol

Re: fresh!

My science project for the fair is the reaction of mentos and diet coke... and why the attraction as well?

I have to admit I wasn't too excited about this week's theme. I had worked on one design but then I fell out of love with it. Not until the image of a tiny minty candy climbing a ladder into a 2 liter of cola popped in my head I was gonna pass this week's derby. Is the idea of mentos and diet coke all over the web. Yes it is with videos upon videos recording the reactions when combined. As to shirts there are some out there but not in comparison of what I put together here. I think this design is just bizarre and leaves you questioning "why?" "Why is this little guy wanting to climb and jump in the coke?" We may never know. I hope that mystery and weirdness of no answer attracts you as well to this design.
Thanks for the support and definitely open to critique and feedback.

Re: A Balanced Diet?

This entry, drawn by my 11-year-old, depicts the science fair project she actually did this year. She wanted to see if cats will eat fruit or vegetables instead of cat food.

She was in consideration for an award for this project.

I know the incident in questions and I remember the controversy that was spawned. I can't think of any precedents to counter that incident... Prove me wrong, I'm quite interested.
