Ideally one would repair everything, less waste more green and so on, but in the end unless something is sold to end users a discrete parts that can be replaced, or costing 5k+, you are going to want to replace them. Most things are so integrated there is no way to fix it.

We just bought a new washer with a stainless steel interior, I really like it and would suggest that. My dad did his usual research for a year before buying anything thing so if you want I can ask him for info.

I bought some circuitry stuff for school at a parts shop, and listened to the owner talking to a customer. He was discussing how you used to be able to pull out a chip an replace it rather than buying a new unit and how everything is disposable now. While I agree that it sucks, it is kind of sad to see people cling to the past. the old DIP ICs are a thing of the past and SMD is the standard now. DIP products cost more to make, and are less powerful. You could not make anything with modern day computing power thing with them.
And actually SMD will go the same way as DIP with the push towards System on a chip

*This is a bit of an oversimplification, a purest would say this is incorrect, but for this case I am going to say it is true rather than getting into more technical stuff that I would get wrong and isn't relevant.*

Hi folks.

Someone rang the doorbell this morning when I was still sleeping.

Was one of the dog people asking me if I knew a small pitbull. It was found by a friend of the guy at the door. They were asking everyone they knew with dogs.

I didn't, but I told hubby who was about to bring Rusty on his weekend walk.

Hubby was stopped by a girl looking for her black pitbull!

Hubby took her to the guys house, but nobody was home. I went to another dog owners house to get his phone #.

Now pitbull and owner are reunited!!!

So the dog underground society works!

This is ridiculous. Turned the a/c off this morning for the first time in three days and now I have to go put on long pants and maybe a sweatshirt, it's cold.

That is one cute gosling. I saw two the other day. Have to remember not to let Rusty loose in any of the fields. He would put the gosling in his mouth to play with it. It is too delicate for that. Plus the parents would try to kill Rusty!

Wait for it to turn into a teenager. Teenage goslings are ugly things. Long neck, plain grayish feathers.

The dog was chipped, so if they took him to any vet, he would have found his owner.

I told the owner, first thing to do is put up a poster at the park. All the dogs go there and we all read those posters.
She was young and posted on craiglist. I told her us old people wouldn't think of looking there.

So , now we both learned something. She learned to put up a paper poster and I learned to post on craiglist!

The stupidest one was these two dogs we caught, who had collars on, but they didn't have a tag with their address or phone #.

Not that it took us long to find the owner, they were only a block from home. But if your dogs are friendly, but like to get away, why make it hard? That owner said they had gone over a mile in the past.

Got your hotel?

Then what? Moving back home? Staying there? Got a job?

Son's friend took awhile, but he finally settled into a job he likes. Took him 2 years. He quit his first job. Crazy hours, little pay.
Haven't seen him in a long time, so he must have moved out of the parents house.
He was a graphic arts major.

Considering daughter called ducks f..ks when she was little, I had to make sure she knew the difference between ducks, geese and swans.

I'll probably be around after the dog gets his shot and I gets some eats.

4 hours @ work, then broken tree limbs @ f-i-l's taken down, chopped into managable lengths and stacked by the road. All my yard work is done, new air filter installed on f-i-l's mower. Short nap too.

In the end only kindness matters

The house is a mess, but I ironed all my tee shirts. The new dryer is weird, they can't be taken out and worn easily, even if I get there just as it ends.
Hubby bought a new iron for the occasion. He irons everything he puts on, almost every day.
It is heavy. Bothered my wrist. The arthritis dr thinks the wrist is carpal tunnel. Guess I should go to the right doctor for it.

Hubby is cleaning, at least a little, the garage.
Heck, the christmas stuff hadn't been put away yet.

We have a lawn service this year, so the mower and most of the lawn stuff can go in the back now. With the snow blower and shovels.
