Spring is our wet season.

@ five weeks.

Which might mean seven. I've never seen a remodel or build out or anything get done when they said it would.

Consult a consumer advocate; If things seem to be getting drawn out, they could bring city/county/state pressure to bear!!

Yep. BBB. No complaints for the last three years. Built the neighbor's deck last year (really fancy). His wife used to babysit for us. He's lived two doors down from us for 25 years. Checked with the manager of the credit union nearby who knows everything about everybody and she said she's heard that he does good work. Can't do much else. Oh, and looked at pictures on his website.

Okay; you know how to track him down and severely chastise him about the head and shoulders if you're unhappy!!!

Poof did the right thing in checking him out as far as she could. I sincerely hope that nothing, but nothing goes wrong. My car horror still drifts into my thoughts and upsets me on occasion. Then I have remind myself that all was well in the end - but the journey was pure agony.

I tend not to trust references because I don't figure they're going to give me a reference that's not happy.

imo refs show that at least they have any happy customers at all (which isn't always true for every company)!

Refuse to pay the taxes. Besides I just sit on the couch or in the kitchen. Hubby sits by his desk, or at his workshop.
Unless a kid moves back in, we have enough space.

How soon you forget! We went over this a couple months ago. Extend the dining room so I can feed my whole family even a few years from now, and add a laundry room because the current setup is out the kitchen door, through the garage to the stairs to the basement.

Now I remember why that sounds familiar. My parents house was supposed to be done in time for Christmas, then by New Years, and then it was finally finished in February. Of course that was a whole house, not an addition.

Laundry needs to be near the bedroom. That is where the clothes are.

That is a big dining room, but if you use one, it needs to be long and wide enough to leave the table without everyone getting up.

Exactly. If I ever built a house, the laundry would be by the bedrooms. And we don't have an eat-in kitchen.

This was the only house we saw that had an area for a kitchen table.

Even the bigger houses didn't have an eat in kitchen. They might have had a dining room.

Entry halls. With closets. At least 3' of closet space per person for coats and outdoor clothes.
More if there is room!
Plus a closet for each pet for pet stuff. The rats and cat have huge bags of litter and food and the dog needs his own house!

Our hall closet current houses the vacuum cleaner and ironing board. I'm hoping to at least get the ironing board into the new laundry room.

I'm back! Internet and phone were restored about 3 pm. I immediately left to go purchase a new washing machine, as mine broke and the repair man told me the repair cost more than it was worth.

After 16 hours (added up, not consecutive) of yelling, harassing, begging, threatening, a Verizon tech came today. He was great, and gave me his cell phone # in case I have trouble.

I bought a Frigidaire front loader washer, and went ahead and got the dryer too. The pedestal drawers were free.

I immediately then went to pick up nephew for our scheduled baseball game (Astros vs Rays).

I caught a t-shirt. with my chin, chest, arms and hands. not necessarily in that order.

Don't forget you need special detergent for the front loader.

So who ended up with the T-shirt, you or nephew?

I got a top loader and it needs the new detergent too.
Annoying deep. Almost has to stand on tip toe to reach the bottom.
The front loader just wouldn't fit in the closet space they live in.

I'm about to lose the laptop to the nephew. I might boot up the other, might not though.
