I think the perspective on the hummingbird is probably off, but I like it so much overall that I voted anyway. best one here.

I'd agree. Though I suppose one could argue that this doesn't exactly "reinterpret" the shirt title, only redesigns it. I hadn't thought of this until I looked at the original with your link.

Anyway, that paper-covers-rock part still bothers me. You can't really see the fury in the paper, it just looks like he floated down onto the rock.

I could do without the skulls in the background.

Oh yeah, and the concept is creepy. Like in a windowless van kind of way.

It's also missing a segment in the space between his arm and body (armpit). Sloppy work.

In the early 1500s, a young Leonardo Da Vinci's obsession with human flight led him to draw up several concepts of potential flying machines. This is a modern take on it, and how I imagine a redesign conversation might go:

"Hey Leonardo, you finished that glider design I asked about yet?"

"Sure have, just look at that beauty. The best aero-glider this side of the Mediterranean."

"Wh...what is that.. thing attached to it?"

"Oh, that? Just a last minute touch-up: it's a Plutonium-239 implosion-type high explosive. Needed a bit more...punch. Just pull the cord, and everything below you turns into glass. I think."

2 colors, on white. Because there aren't enough white shirts out there, I like the look of 'em, and this looks rad on it.

Up close halftones:

Addendum: This shirt will show the ladies you are at least familiar with both Renaissance culture, and atomic weaponry. If that doesn't impress them, I don't know how to help you.

Re: [url=http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/Entry.aspx?id=52581]inspired by

I know you probably didn't get the inspiration for this shirt from the top downloaded app game "Angry Birds", but that black bomb chicken is straight from that game: http://www.mwoblog.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Angry-Birds.jpg

Would it be a pop-culture reference if I and every other person that saw the shirt would think first of the game Angry Birds?

"At the expense of"? Really? How does that work?

Its a great design, I love it and it likely would have won on it's own. Sure, knowing that voting on it means a good chance of $500 going to the Japanese is going to buy it more votes, but at least that way the deal is sealed.

What if he / she hadn't said anything and somehow lost? Wouldn't THAT be at the expense of the Japanese people?

I really like this. Being me, I'd prefer it on a dark blue shirt but this one is also really good. You've done green proud.

I think that it's two different jokes, so it's probably okay. I really like this shirt so I hope the PTB think so agree.

Re: Inspired by Error Cuteness Overflow

My shirt was inspired by Error, Cuteness Overload by Spiritgreen.

This monster, we will call him Urven, was enjoying feasting on all the cute animals that inhabited the lands. He had no fears, he had no worries. Urven kept eating and eating until he was sore. Finally his belly couldn't hold any more.

Thanks for the larger image, that detail is amazing. I thought about putting as my background on my desktop, but it would stretch it out too wide. I'm definitely in for a shirt when this wins though.

Wait, nevermind. It was a BUNNY pretending to be a PENGUIN. I can't keep these penguin shirts straight XD

Anyway I think it's a clever idea, but unfortunately the morbidity is too much for me.

I love this website! ^^
