Re: Inspired by Modern Elephants (resubmitted)

I'm a first time submitter and woke up this morning thinking, "dang it! asphalt." So, here I am resubmitting like the newbie I am. If you voted on my other color (powder blue) I apologize for my wishy-wash. I hope you show some love for this color too. =)

It was inspired by Shag, but it was also inspired by Derek Yaniger. Their style seemed appropriate for someone drinking a mai tai.

Absolutely love this. The only one in the Derby I'd actually wear.

That being said, goodluck breaking the cycle of cutesy and feminine designs that print week after week.

Re: Inspired by It's a trap!

The artist clearly used the image as a reference and all artists, need that/do that, from time to time. It appears they redrew everything and made an attempt to make it their own, which I think is fine as the skeletal structure of a horse isn't copyrighted. =P

However, (I hate to bring this up) isn't the trojan horse pop culture? =o

All drama aside I think the shirt is great and I envy the artistic ability. =)

It's ... ummm, food related. ^_^ GMV!

On a more serious note, it reminds me of my sister's "puppy". No cute toys for him ... he'd chew them all up anyways. Not too unexpected when he weighs almost 150#, y'know.

Wasn't the subject of the original a panda as well? Wouldn't that make this a remix or sequel or something? Don't get me wrong, it's well done, I'm just asking.

I would never let a 7 year old wear a shirt as morbid/bloody as this one. Come on, you gotta be kidding me.

I know I love it when my elementary school age children wear shirts that imply penguins are axe murderers. *sarcasm intended*

i love this idea, but i personally feel there's not enough contrast between the grey and the green. it makes it hard to see the design overall, and especially hard to see the guy jumping.

I do love the execution, by the way, but I'm a sucker for isometric projection :>

j5 wrote:Nice concept.

I always use white pegs for misses to simulate water splashes.

Ack. That was just a miss on my part -- not an effort to be less "pop culture". Before I resub somewhere else, I'll make those white.
