Re: Singin' In The Storm

I never thought a singing monster could be so beautiful. Amazing job, Spirit. Definitely one of my faves this derby. +1 and zoom to the fog, singing Frank!

It's an ode to the Art Deco trains seen in 30's and 40's movies (the 1947 movie Violence, And of course North by Northwest). Reference

Re: A Day At The Monster Movie Set v1

King Kong was the biggest movie star of his day, circa 1933. By the 50s, however, roles and fame had both dried up, which is how he found himself wearing a rubber suit and playing the monster on some foreign film called "Gojira"...

Re: Swashbuckler Island

How is this on theme? Because they used the word swashbuckler in the write up and he used it in the title?

Everything about her is contemporary, almost anime-ish when it comes to her figure, face, and hair.

It's a well done design, but it's not on topic. Not that woot cares about those things or anything.

Re: The Silver Spectre

could that be one of the 1950s movie theater train projectors that were all the rage? I'm certain that I see light coming out of the front lens

I think it just might be!

Re: Giant Robotic Overloards... IN 3D!

The 1950s were crawling with giant robots, walking carelessly through the streets. Now you can see them in 3D, just like real life!

Re: Merlette

Kept things really simple this week, mostly because I have a busy weekend. A halftoned composition of a few noir elements - the femme fatale, the verticle blinds, the raven...
And FYI, Merlette is french for a female blackbird. Seemed apropos. Thanks for looking!

PS, can't wait til I have time to cruise the community a bit for a new 'real shirt' template with the new colors. This one is only vaguely better than the last standard Woot template.
