C'mon man, I thought you were going to be more original next time around...

It was late, anyway, and I didn't see any lips. How can you do a "red woot" without lips? That, in itself, is original. But thank you for clicking and taking a gander.

Saw this in the pre-derby thread and am very impressed with where you took the concept and how you used the space on the shirt. Great linework and impressive colors as usual. Had my Red Riding Hood idea in development at the same time, but thought they were different enough interpretations. Didn't help me much when we subbed them one after the other and yours took off, while mine watched admiringly from a close vantage. Hope yours continues to do well.

That silhouette looks great framed by the paint splashes. Very impressed to see what you do with a limited palette Chris.

The initial drops you had were a little too distracting, but I liked the idea of them. I'm really glad you kept a couple of really small ones. This is a beautiful design, sir. Really well done.

Here's some details of the wolf and Red. For a single color design it still took a lot to get all the elements working together. Thanks for the votes and comments.

I am learning. There are halftones, when I shrunk the image to fit 580x580 I could see them but not clearly, part of the reason I put the halftone sample there. But if it means squat then it means squat. I tried.

Also, when it comes to halftones, one time a method passes the fickle wootinaters' approval, the next time the exact same choices are rejected by yet another fickle wootinater. What is rated as objectionable one time is in short order followed by questionable images meant to be overtly against your printed rules and they are not rejected. Wud up,wootinater?

Thanks for your time. =>

Thanks! Sometimes when you're trying new things, it takes a little bit of feedback to figure out what's working or not working.

Re: What's Black and White and Red All Over?

A very cool character Boots (except in situations like this). People are right, you have a special way with concepts that strike just the right chord with your audience.

ekhozindar wrote:how is the newspaper red all over... why am i missing the joke... GOD WHY?!

Due to newspapers wide circulation they are 'read all over.'

The concept and the rendering are fine. Hang in there! Wooters are fickle!

Thank you, time is naturally the only strategy i've not tried.
experience is everything anyway

paigeg wrote:Red tide was hub's first suggestion to me when I told him the theme. Kudos. But these look like gradients, and won't pass muster with Woot. Gradients are OK in your print-ready file (Woot will halftone them for you). But for display here, you need to halftone. Personally, I don't get it. If you half to halftone, then halftone and be done. OY!

Thanks for your input paigeg! Maybe you should have tried your version of 'red tide' too!
I know some of the elements looks like gradients in the image but they are actually halftones following Woot's instructions )

There's a spot in the wing you missed. the detail looks good, but there's a red triangle in the comp. Maybe versio2 will fix it?

But I'm blind, I could be wrong.

Definitely a nice shirt. Although, admittedly, I probably wouldn't buy it. One Masque of the Red Death shirt is enough for me.
