Re: All kinds of bookworms
yay!! I was hoping you finalized on the royal blue with the light blue! +1.
Re: Jealousy
@suzer22 - thanks! Your comment helped me to include the little disgruntled squiggle cloud =) @qetza - thank you! @homestarrunner21 - I hear ya, but the book seemed too boastful that way: )
how about a pile of E-readers being burned by fascists with the caption "KINDLING"
hmmm glitch
Re: The Original Blockbuster
I would have preferred "Longwinded Leo", but it's still a great shirt regardless.
kainis wrote:It needs the whale. It's a reference to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Yes, I know what type of whale it is, but woot doesn't like that word.
I agree, the whale would be a nice touch. GMV regardless.
Re: Fantasizing
ENTRY NUMBAH ONE!
Re: Readventure!
Entry Numbah Two!
Re: Make Way for Raptors
I feel like this would have been better if it was the famous drawing of the police officer waving them through except with raptors. Even thought that's the cover of the book, it's not the most famous image. It's a very impressive image, though. Very well modeled.
Re: A lifetime of reading
I do like this shirt design..but I don't like the books towards the top. However, if those weren't there, then your idea wouldn't be the same.
jillydreadful wrote:I tried the link you shared and it didn't take me to a image. Well, it said broken link but I saw phpBB.com and it just looked like forum stuff? I'd love to see the shirt.
Sorry, my bad, i forgot to preview and it messed up.. this here or just the design
Azurett wrote:I do like this shirt design..but I don't like the books towards the top. However, if those weren't there, then your idea wouldn't be the same.
kind of like life, huh? Sure, some of the later stuff isn't as fun, but there's still a lot to savor.
Robsoul wrote:Great submission, hope to see this printed! By far one of the best entries.
I would say it IS the best.

I felt it was a bit pornographic also... I think she might be taking bibliophile a bit too far. Great line work though. :-)
ikxixi wrote:I had no idea either. So googled it: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080513180653AAsV23k \o/ Still no idea what the show was, guess it has to do with being European :P, but now at least I know the lyrics
Aww you make me feel old! It was a public access tv show in the 80's and they reviewed the plot of a children's book each show in some creative fashion. And the host was Geordi from Star Trek, which I always enjoyed pointing out when my brothers had Star Trek on. I still do it when I come across Enterprise reruns! At any rate, it was a show that encouraged children to read and go get books out from the library. We watched in school sometimes too. Cause reading is fun!
Re: Reading Rocket Ship
My favourite so far in this derby. Great concept, illustration and use of color.
Re: To Serve Chicken
Thanks!
ainecful wrote:Sorry, my bad, i forgot to preview and it messed up.. this here or just the design
man! i love that design haha..
Re: London and his Dogs
The Call of the Wild dog is my favorite. I love how he's holding the phone -- not realistic, but better!
Re: How to live forever
Smooth...
Needs to have more men without shirts for it to be truly "fantasizing" but otherwise fantastic!
Re: Illiterate rainbow
The cool thing is if you look at the image upside down, then the rainbow is smiling and it looks like he's holding the book above his head cheering. Perhaps he's the 1 out of 10 rainbows that can read.
I like the design -- very good artwork. But I don't like the concept. Not the concept of the design, just the concept of digital readers. I'll give my vote to you, but I'll grumble about it.
Re: Sketchbook
I really like this, both for the concept and the style of illustration. My only doubt is how this will look if printed in just one color, with all this detail and tonal range.
Must Have! Must Have! Must Have!
Re: gutenbergers
This is wonderful!
I am so in love with this you would not believe it.
Azurett wrote:This is a very nice, clever idea. I just feel like it's missing something..maybe a little color wouldn't hurt.
It's missing the tree growing there, lol.
Treasure Island's actually free in the Kindle store...no need to pirate it lol
Re: The Owl Brings Me Many Things

Re: The Real Treasure
wonderfully fascinating, Wences!
Re: The Lion, the Witch, in the Wardrobe
Adorable!
gorgeous
I'm always afraid to submit something one color like this. I hope to see how it turns out, 'cause I think my drawings are always better before I try to put the crayons to them! Good luck, and +1!
I really like how this turned out, Boots
grypes wrote:I felt it was a bit pornographic also... I think she might be taking bibliophile a bit too far. Great line work though. :-)
Beautiful image, but I do have to agree...a bit,um...incidentally suggestive...
Re: The Best Defense
Giant televisions can use mind-mushing rays to umm... make your mind mushy. Books are the best defense! Decided to do this instead my design based on "The Lorax". I might submit that one later. Thank you for looking!
Re: Read Me resub
Freakin' awesome! Great concept! You got a vote from me, champ!
