Hi all

Busy day. I used to make cakes, wedding cakes, etc. Friend has started making them, got roped into a wedding & groom's cake and was in over her head. I went and helped her last night and all day today if you count deliver, etc. It was fun - I just got to decorate - no baking or making of the icing.

Niece has strained her neck and is in mega pain. She's staying over here today & tonight with my heating pad, etc. Gonna try and fix her up. Nephew is here to so he wasn't at home all by himself.

Just watched Megamind - I've never seen it. It was funny! loved the music

Shouldn't you be using ice instead of heat?

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Okay, so if y'all are bringing the contests forum back from the dead, here's a really wild and crazy idea you might want to try to get things started... announcing the results for those last few photoshop contests that were left hanging in limbo years ago. I know, I know, might be a little too wild and crazy for the woot crew, but still thought it's worth throwing the idea out there.

Deals has got a good deal on Oneida flatware. 20% off already discounted price. I figure if I'm adding on a room to feed more people, I should probably get more silverware for them to eat with, right? Trying to decide between another service for 12 or 8.

no, when I hurt mine it was a lot of heat, and a TENS unit then some stretches 7 exercises. We have a TENS unit tomorrow we can borrow, but we may try a massage. I'm trying to avoid paying to go to the Physical Therapist like I did, b/c she doesn't have insurance.

Or far more likely, throw it away. We used to blame that on the kids. Now...

Thank you for the welcome.

Fun fact about me: When I play games, I play them straight.

So no, no multiple voting accounts for me. :p

Actually, smaller than usual crowd this year. One of the nieces has a volleyball tournament out of state and that whole family went there. Everybody brings a dish.

Oh, how fun. Hopefully the game is somewhere to the west of Tropical Storm Lee, the big jerk. He's been having a good ol' time raining all over my family BBQ plans this weekend.

And I hope your weekend goes well, joyner.

I have tried to tell hubby that you just can't go buy forks that match.
I got new about two years ago and I have all of everything but big forks.

I bet I'm missing 4.

So go for 12. I might go look at it.

Yes, we must always remember the eyes.

O.O

They watch.

Luckily the memory behind that set of eyes is only a month long, tops.

Many, many years ago (no one can remember how or why) a water baloon fight took place here on Labor Day. My kids were small. Since then it has become a tradition, going from water baloons (still used) to kiddie pools full of water and buckets. Some of us, ahem, older family members would like to stay out of it, but our kids (the ones who had so much fun when they were little) aren't as interested in their kids having fun, so it's kind of left to the grandparents to keep participating. *sigh* Everyone brings a change of clothes and towels and the neighbors think we're all crazy as balloons go sailing over the house.

Crazy, or just jealous and dying to join in?

Edit: Mom needs my help. I shall be back another time. Happy Labor Day weekend, everyone. To my fellow Gulf Coast-ers, try to stay dry! <3

It traveled west over the New Orleans/Gulf Coast area, paused, and is now pretty much pulling a U-y to head back east, just north of Naw'lens and hit it again.

Cute puppy, btw.

Hi baihai. Welcome to PWA! It has just started to rain in western NC. We left the lake and came home to be rained upon. Central air and Interwebs are more fun in the rain. We have a stray dog outside our fence. I was worried about him not having a house. But being a bright hunting dog (treeing walker coon hunter), he found our neighbors front porch. They are staying with her Mom who has Alzheimer's so they won't mind. I have to cut all the lights off in the den/kitchen/dining area or he howls and barks. I wish whoever he belongs to would come get him.

The Texans are jealous of you rain hoggin' folks. I do have to say it is nice having it cool enough that the central air can keep up with out running the portable units though.

Believe me, if I could send some of this rain your way, I would!

And joyner - maybe he's decided he's your dog now.

He is a very sweet boy but I don't need another dog. I don't think he would be a good condo dog for the beach!

We got some rain here! It started raining last night - light drizzle parts of today. Only got into the 80's today - so it was great.

Took niece for a massage to try and help clear the big knot in her neck/shoulder muscle.

I think I'll get a massage next week.

Finally it's just me at my apt. Niece and nephew have both gone home

Thibodaux. Those pesky French spellings have been pestering me my entire life.

Tornado warning in that area right now. I don't think any touched down in Louisiana, though. There were a few sighted about 9 miles in land off of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
