Then it would have been the 1st pink tshirt I've ever owned, but, alas, it was not meant to be. But I'd TOTALLY get one on either of your 2 wishful colors =D

Perhaps if it doesn't print here, a different site might offer a more vibrant shirt selection? I honestly don't know any of the other sites, woot is the only one I look at as of now...relatively new to this whole thing...but you have to let me know if you sub it elsewhere! =D

Re: pick one

Great idea, but this will get rejected because of gradients in the comp & detail. No Gradients, gotta use halftones, see submission page for guidelines.

Really? I read this on the side bar:

Illustrator users, please submit your final art with gradients. We'll create the halftones on our end.

I need a new shirt to wear on St.Pat's...my 3 different standby's are all slowly becoming a little tattered...though still wearable, I need to retire them before it's gone too far!

I love this shirt! my only qualm is that the baby looks to be anime (or manga or something, sorry, I don't live in that world), but I would LOVE to own it!

Re: El Cuarto Jinete

Full compliments on your technical skills again walmazan. This is another lesson in good shirt design for me. The drawing is economical and clear. Colours, texture and shading all exist to support the idea, rather than being a crutch. Line halftones on the trees and dot halftones for the drop shadow to pop the figure forward. Varied hand-drawn rendering on the cloth shading and fine lines that appear to be etched into the bone and wood.
To top it off you have another clever four horsemen of the merry-go-round waiting in the wings. Any time you are ready to post more tutorial videos, just let me know.

Re: Four Seasons In One Day

That's one amazing thread of complimentary comments and constructive criticism, and I thank you for them all. It means a lot to hear how people read it with fresh eyes after I have stared at it for so many hours while it progressed.
The leaf appears to polarise viewers the most, and I must admit it was the toughest element to work in. Before submitting I had tried leaving it as shirt colour, but it ended up looking to me like a hole had been punched through the design. This was not the intention. The idea was that it could read as sky and leaf, so it was important to me to play up the ambiguity. No design is going to be all things to everyone (except The Binge), so I'm pleased there is still a loyal audience for this one.
Thanks again to everone for giving me such a good run with these last three designs.

Aw! I love how he's hibernating during the winter! This is far and away the best four seasons design in the derby. There's so much more going on than just the mere fact of four seasons.

paigeg wrote:Nice bracketing, without text. You might want to try a more free-form glow next time. Draw a reasonably smooth oval, or whatever you like, with the lasso tool. Fill with the gradient or color opacity of your choice, then maybe add a blur, halftone it... It would be less obvious than a shape tool. JMO.

Thanks for the advice, I just started experimenting with halftoning. For the center glow I used an oval with the Zig Zag distortion (I was working in Illustrator) and applied a gradient before halftoning. Woot just says to leave the gradient when submitting an illustrator file so I'm not sure if their version of halftoning would be more subtle then my attempt. It was really hard to mess around with different settings because screen redraw couldn't handle all of the little dots on screen.

Wow, thanks for your response! It's great to hear a bit about your creative process. Now that you mention it, I can see how it'd look like a hole. Hm.

Well, when it comes down to it, there are just too many amazing elements to this shirt to not vote, and I really love this take on the four reasons, so vote I shall. Hope to see this Friday =3

Re: Trading Horses 4 Horse Power (4 Wheel'n)

Late as Usual well later than usual was out of town over the weekend.

Any whoo here is my latest entry I call it trading horses for horse power. Why because they traded their horses in for some cool four wheelers. Also I just like to try different approaches to an old theme.

Also I noticed that no one really attempted to render a four wheeler so I did.

Any way I hope you guys like it.

Re: The Original Fantastic Four

Very nice illustration, GMV. One minor thing - Aragorn's back leg disappears a bit too much for me. Maybe seeing it in person in full size, this wouldn't happen, but here on screen, it seemed off at first glance. Cool shirt though.

I pray we get this option one day. These mediocre re-hashed pieces will still get tons of votes, but at least there may be enough people to counter that we can at least keep it out of top 3.
