Yes, this drawing DOES look like it belongs in kindergarten. Hey-o. That joke wrote itself.

But honestly I haven't seen many personal attacks in this thread. "This shirt sucks" and "Ramyb sucks" are two different things. I've seen a lot of "this shirt sucks." Ramy actually does have good designs in derbies. The ones that don't involve poorly drawn cartoon animals tend to end up looking quite nice.

The reason you see so many scathing attacks every week from people is that these shirts are in fact (slightly) harmful to us. "If you don't like it then don't vote it and don't buy it" doesn't complete the story. The fact that 1 in 7 woot shirts (clearly I'm inflating this number, I know this style doesn't place every week) is a poorly drawn bead eyed animal pushes out other designs we'd like to buy time and time again. Fairly or unfairly, in some people's minds woot has become a "cute shirt" site, and foremost among the contributors to that style is Ramy. Of course people are going to lash out about that.

Frankly I'd rather see a site that is open to both criticism and praise of the works submitted, rather than some sort of pseudo-censoring "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" system.

Personal attacks are regularly deleted, so unless you visit often, you won't see them. He'll, I've even had non-personal-attack comments deleted, so ??? (Note that I'm not sure if the OP is referring to current state or some transient state of thread flux).

To be fair though, criticism of the work, if well or even poorly reasoned, is retained, so your second point stands.

move along

Re: Fantastic Musketeers [Resub]

This is now officially my most voted-on design.

Thank you to all who voted, I appreciate it. Next time, I will strive to find the perfect mix of design, execution, and more sique halftone colors. I'm going for 100 votes, so I'm gonna bring it (I hope it's a good one).

Cheers, see you next time!

I love your site too. It has a very clean, chic feel to it.

Thats so good to hear. This has been quite an experience. I started designing shirts a few of months ago as a personal project and this month and a half at Woot has been amazing. I've learn a lot and I hope to keep submitting and sharing them with everyone.

I am not a Power Rangers fan (I' m already on my 30's, but shhh, hahaha), but I really liked the style and the fact that they look like PowerPuff girls (I love those girls) For next year's 5th anniversary, how about adding Mojo Jojo? Good luck!

BTW, You already have my vote!

It's great to have you here. I'm glad you're enjoying the t-shirt realm. I designed for Woot a few years back and got a couple of prints, but since then I've never really come close. I dropped off for a couple of years because I felt like doing other things, but it's great to be back and designing again. It's a tough competition, but there's a lot to learn, and everybody truly does have a chance at winning, despite what people think (heck, despite what I have thought in the past).

Bari-sax (or, you know, bass sax to really keep with the theme-within-theme) would have been a good choice. I could have used that instead of the bass drum. *shrug*

We need to do a collaboration, but your gonna have to dedicate a Thursday all-nighter, or at least start the lines at noon. I'll spraypaint it by Noon Friday. You line, I dot. If it prints, we split it 40/30/30 because of my split personality(50/50).

How did you know Reptile is my favorite kharacter in Mortal Kombat? I digress...

I might not be able to borrow the brain-hopper-in-er this weekend...but if I can get it, when and where do I pick up your brain? I work saturday, so I might not be able to grab it till later in the day...

Also, you may want to hold on to a warm-blooded-creature part of your brain for survival purposes...just sayin...y'know, unless you're cold-blooded too which would be even more totally awesome than this shirt design (as discussed earlier). =O haha
