It's funny and well done. However, I'd be shocked if woot lets it stand. +1

I thought that was a pentagram on the moon too. Maybe I'm too sensitive, but I would not buy it as a result. Love the design, just not quite as crazy about Satanism (or perceived Satanism)

Is the ugly duckling considered a fairy tale? I sure didn't think it was.

gement wrote:It's a fun idea. The way it's executed here (a woman in distress showing only shapely naked legs) hits my exploitation nerves a bit.

I assure you, that would not be my intention with this. The legs are naked as she is wearing a gown in there and it is bunched up in the pumpkin.

I do thank you for looking though.

this is probably my favorite design (ever) of yours! love the realistic cracks in the cookie and how it pops off the background. I predict a first place print and a sell out. well done! +1

Then I think the same should apply to the "Straw Sticks & Bricks BBQ" entry.

This entry is based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale The Fisherman and His Wife.

But, to their credit, what they say about men having BIG FEET IS a fairy Tale.

Re: The Seven Ravens

Hooray for using a fairytale not yet appropriated by Disney! I grew up reading the original Grimm's, so I appreciate this. I believe halftones may do the trick.

I "get it," I'm fullorn Irish! Spot-on ...with no face? Looks like a "Tree design" in disguise. The picket fence and the houses don't fit the design. And ...tell me what fairy tale this came from., cuz I must be Blind!

Re: On Being Prepared

Very cool. Took me a minute to pick out Red's face - might want to go for a few minor "hey that's a face!" cues there, such as a little bit of shade for a nose or a closed-mouth one sided grin in a slash of red, or some indicator for eyes. The idea of having her face blank is good, but got lost in the overall design for me. *2 cents*

You have no idea how dislocated that shoulder is from the rapid compression of that pumpkin.

blinddog3d wrote:Why is there a fox on her head?

well it's not a fox, albeit the colors are similar. she's fading into the sky and becoming a daughter or air. in the story her body dissolves into sea foam, hence the white bubbles and discoloration of her fish tale, but her soul, mind if you will ascends into heaven. well not really heaven it's describe almost like purgatory, and so her head is dissolving into the air. i suppose i could change her hair color, the story doesn't really say anything about her being a red head.

Try to draw a visual line from where her legs are to where her arm comes out at a 90° angle to the pumpkin. Now think where her head would be.

Re: The Boy Who Drew Too Much Cats!

it's actually not off topic, "the boy who drew cats" is a Japanese fairy tale, albeit and obscure one, but still.

Only quibble is position of knitting needles. Outer ends should be down while knitting, and points up.

I see it as her head is being bent forward and its like she's reaching for the top of the pumpkin which is against the back of her head... nobody ever said being squished in a pumpkin was comfy.

*EDIT: and yes I actually tried it like I was the one that was stuck... got some weird looks from co-workers. :/

You can "things" she is whatever you want, but that nose is the Amatuerville Horror. It's like the wolf punched her in the schnoz and took her goodies. Nice shortcut!
