yesh! this looks very nice! I was worried about the turntable looking "cut off" at the bottom, but the way you did the final version looks perfect!

Stylin! But weren't you going to reverse the orientation of the table?

I don't think the fact that you wrote all over his face disguises the fact that this is a photo that's been tweeked. It's kind of jumbled looking, too.

Thanks Ochopika! I stared at this so long. I wanted to make sure I displayed it well enough. So far so good!

I am currently working on a back-up version just in case this doesn't fly. I know it makes total sense to flip it, but what I've tried so far wasn't doing it for me visually. I'll see how it progresses. Thanks!

Re: The Periodic Table of Fictional Elements

I like your design. It has quite a lot of references in it that different people can get, but at the same time it looks slightly like the actual table of elements. I can see people maybe noticing, reading one of the elements, then double-taking. It's funny in a subtle way.

I retract some of my comment. Actually it's the Apatosaurus. Back in the 1860's two palaeontologists were racing to discover the most number of new species. One of them discovered and named the Apatosaurus which was about 50 feet long. Later the other found a larger skeleton (about 70 feet long) but it lacked a head. He named this one Brontosaurus, or 'Thunder Lizard'. He ended up using a head from another dig a distance away (from a Camarasaurus) and convinced everyone it was a new species.

Just after the turn of the century it was proven that the larger Brontosaurus was actually the same animal as the Apatosaurus, just an older example. At that point Brontosaurus became a synonym for Apatosaurus. Poor Brontosaurus. That said Some time in the 1970's the whole thing with the head was finally settled.

So like amreli said, basically the same thing as the triceratops.

This is gr8! There's a company out there that does your DNA fingerprint and will laser print it & frame it into Art for $500. I don't see why this is any less a work of art, it's visually stunning! Clever idea.

Thank you, but we will both have to wait....

I almost did Adam Ant with sideburns and the triple claws in his Prince Charming pose. But I thought it might have been over people's heads, that was back in the 80s and kind of a distant connection. But the idea made me smile, since he was such a "dandy" and Wolverine is such as Badass!

Thanks again for the vote,

Thanks! Well, electromagnetism governs chemistry, also this is about the chemistry between two people, so I'm hoping that is cool. Definitely don't want any Rejectionator interactions. ;-)

Re: Periodic Table of Fiction

I only could get 4 of them also...but you left out two of my favorites too. I was really hoping to see Unobtanium make the list (most widely known from Avatar, but has appeared elsewhere). And, although much more obscure, I was hoping to catch Metatron somewhere (from Zone of the Enders).

Very fun design, though! =)
