Picky people are picky. It's a cute shirt. The end.

Been some week shirts as of late. When I saw the mini picture of this on sellout.woot.com, I thought at first a Klan dress had a rainbow shooting out his but.

Well, good to see woot has morals, but I still don't like this shirt. And the sad part is that I actually use the "double rainbow all the way" phrase from time to time.. of course followed up by "what does this mean?"

If you go somewhere over the double rainbow, do you wind up in Ozoz?

I agree. It's a shirt with a cool art - a shot out to Pink Floyd and Pocket God. Don't read too much into it, people! ...just sayin'...

Now what would make you think that?

Examine Bindle of Carrots.
What Bindle of Carrots?

I'm inspired.

Two rainbows diverged on an asphalt tee
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one photon, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it diffracted in the prism.

Ha ha...woot filtered itself. =)

Or perhaps woot's trying to be about 20% cooler?

Wear this shirt: on that annual weed-and-peyote-fueled camping-trip-cum-vision-quest thing you do.

I do this every weekend. Now to decide whether I'm going to do laundry more often, wear the same one all the time, or just buy more of these shirts!

OMGOMGOMGPONIESOMG Double Rainbow was said by hungrybear on youtube and is famous for this reason also the rainbow too... the prism reference part of it is especially disrespectful none the less no permission was givin by the man to use this.. it also is disrespectful to pink floyd.

It is actually an immature insult to Pink Floyd and one of the best albums ever produced.
Then again, immature seems to be the theme on S.W lately.

koltar27 wrote:I don't think that's how prisms work; It's not a mirror.

Assuming the secondary spectrum that is projected from the prism would have been due to the same reason as a double rainbow, the secondary spectrum would be reversed. What happens in a raindrop is that the primary rainbow is the refraction of light that enters the droplet and exits the other side, but some light does not exit and instead is reflected internally. This actually happens twice (two internal reflections) before the light exits to form the secondary rainbow which is why the spectrum is inverted. A cool exercise is to use approximate a raindrop as a sphere and using the index of refraction of water to calculate the angle of arc that a primary rainbow should be projected at and then calculate the internal reflection angles and finally the arc of the secondary angle. It works out to exactly what we see in nature: 42 degrees for the primary and 52 degrees for the secondary.
