Re: The Quick Brown Dog Jumped Over the Lazy Fox
Anyone immediately think of this shirt?: http://shirt.woot.com/blog/viewentry.aspx?id=8119

thanx...it's fun to make people smile
This is brilliant. I do, however, agree that the character variations are strong enough to upset the readability of the shirt for your average peon. With this sort of illustration there's an issue of critical mass, where the viewer needs to recognize a certain amount of the material to form a positive relationship with what they are seeing, or the response becomes confusion and condescension. I think the vast majority of people would fail to meet the necessary recognition level even if the characters were readily-identifiable replicas, which is unfortunate, but not really the shirt's fault.
Re: Caninicus!
Oh, and here's Harry's portrait.
Re: Boba Fetch
Thank you for all the great comments, this derby has some great entries.
Really well drawn.

Stardamsel had a similar design for derby #206: role reversal.
Re: iChihuahua
This perfect in that some people will get it and for those who don't, it's easy to explain.
Even a blind squirrel is right twice a day.
Re: A great disturbance at the dog park
BAM! It's late, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, at least my mental fingers. That sounds weird. Anyway, yay you fogged!
Re: Graveyard Snack
I have to say, with other entries along the same idea, this one by far is my favorite! Wonderful dogs!
Re: Propellerhead Plane - Wagging Style - New Version

Re: Ready to Roll!
i had a dog when i was growing up that got his back broke. unfortunately we had to do the unthinkable. i wish they would of had devices like this back then. good for you for letting people know about how to make dogs life enjoyable. I like it, GMV
Re: Winter Wolf
Late entry is better than no entry, right? I threw out several designs, though decided to keep my submission streak going, so I sketched this up. The original design was going to have a neolithic hunter also, but I like the simpler design. Cheers!
blanked wrote:It took me a long time to see the dog, so hopefully the rejectionator sees it, however in the thumb you show a white background but the shirt comp is blue. So you need to change that (change the background of thumb to match shirt color) to be in rules. As for the design, it seems small, like it may be hard for people to see if not in my personal space. And people do seem to like big prints on this site.
Hi there, Thanks for the comments, yes it's a little bit smaller for viewers ( i'll make "detail picture" closer next time) and i hope woot people can see it clearly XD. Seb
Re: Dogtor Who
I like the concept just not the actual illustration :/
Re: Cruisin
I like this design. It goes well on the yellow shirt.

Thank you very much
SeedUvPain wrote: EDIT: You're also ignoring the fact that a majority of the derbies have included a "No Star Wars" rule for this very reason
That was my thought. The stats Tgentry provided are kind of incomplete. How many of those derby shirts were in derbies that had a blanket "no star wars" rule. My guess is that it is a significant amount of derbies. Also, how many Star Wars related shirts were fog/print bound and were rejected because your legal team didn't think you could run it? If there was never a no star wars ban, it would stand to reason that there would be much more star wars prints in the derby catalog. As evidence by last week, and most likely this week when we will be treated to Boba Fetch in the next couple of nights.

Agree! Placement is everything

I downloaded the image, cleaned up the border, then uploaded the result to http://zxing.org/w/decode.jspx

LOL, how funny! Thanks Google, you totally failed me. I can't believe I missed that one. I was wondering because it seemed like a good enough switch that someone should have already done it.
