Genius!! If this design wins, it'll be the first bag I've ever saved after ordering from shirt.woot.

Re: Hot and Fresh Ever Time

I tried to find a thread instructing how to avoid compression and stretching when submitting, but didn't see one. From past posts I've seen it seems to involve telling the site the size of the image, or making your image the size the site uses prior to submitting (I think the later).

That being said I like the stretched version of the guy better.

Re: The Wooty Bunch

The amount of complaining that's been shoveled onto this design is unbelievable. I thought this was already a good design when I mistook it as a parody of Ramyb's success, but understanding the design now as a conglomeration of successful shirts makes me like it no less than before. Hating on the design just because it features familiar characters drawn by Ramyb won't make it disappear forever from this Derby.

Thank you so much! I had to delete and resubmit, because I can't stand to see that mistake. I'm going to blame my keyboard though, since the s key is funky. LOL

That is really a shame! I was going to offer to send you my next one I receive but Spirtgreen beat me to it. It really turned out great and is one of my favorites. I love this design as well. Fun for people who know woot and those who don't. +1

I see this as RamyB trying to make more money using others' ideas. I understand that it references woot shirts. Still doesn't change the fact that he's still using others' ideas.

Re: The Wooty Bunch

I think this is taking ramyb-hate too far, guys. It's not like you need any more reasons than usual to hate ramyb, so stop inventing random reasons like "He thinks his designs represent all of Shirt.Woot!" He does not -- the characters represent popular Woot shirts. And it's not like plenty of other bag designers near the top haven't inserted cute animals into their designs.
So stop whining about this bag and threatening to boycott Woot or whatever the hell you're thinking of doing now...If you don't like it, don't vote. The final tally will show whose design is the best.

(Though I do find it a little odd to be including Imposter with classic Woot shirts...)

Re: The Wooty Bunch

The "complaining" here is just a pale shade of what I expected when I first saw this.

Ramy can say that he's referring to other people's popular shirts all he wants, but the fact is that half of those figures at least are identical to ones that are constantly in his own designs. Nobody looks at his ridiculous version of a turtle and thinks "hey that's referencing the popular ninja turtle woot shirt!" they think "hey cool I have 5 ramyb shirts with that turtle on it!" It looks like blatant self promotion.

All the people who have issues with Ramyb representing shirt.woot by having a medley of his "greatest hits" on the bag will have to decide for themselves what they are going to do about it should this win.

Yay! I'd wear this as a shirt or a bag! I could turn the bag into a tube-top, sacrificing classiness for style! It would be worth it.

Re: Rebirth of Venus

Rejected for use as the bag, and I can understand that, I guess. But it seems hypocritical as long as the designs with half-naked men aren't rejected. Just a little sexist, is all I'm saying.

yankeebird wrote:Hmmm, same problem as your other design. You need to feature a white exclamation mark. In addition, you can't feature any other text besides the woot logo, so all your other exclamation marks would have to go.

The other exclamation points are fine, since you can make the argument that they are "slightly altered woot logos" but you need at least one unaltered, properly colored logo.

I'm with L3g3ndQ on this one...to heck with the bag, I need this on a shirt! Without the shirt in the art, I agree it looks like an afterthought to an otherwise AMAZING piece of halftoning...it really looks like you used colors you weren't supposed to it looks so good! =)

Re: Wooter Space (Resub)

So what you're saying is that woot is mooning us from the center of the solar system? Put your pants back on woot, no one wants to see that!

Oh...wait...it's not that woot is mooning us? You mean the world revolves around woot...and woot revolves around the world at the same time? That's quite the gravitational conundrum, is it not?

I'm still wrong? It's...just a cool design? Oh...I see...well then...*ahem*

*awkward pause*

GMV again...nice art =)

I haven't been able to make an octopus design since the Great Octopus Over-saturation of the "O" derby!

Which is why you had to incorporate one now, that there isn't so much of a theme and it's more of a freeform contest...I was partially expecting/hoping for another dragon design from you, too. I REALLY enjoy your dragons quite alot. =)

Let's hope dragons and/or octopi are a workable element in the next several (or more) derbies! Then again, I wouldn't want you getting bored of drawing them either...so yeah...ofen enough that you can keep drawing them but not too often that you get bored. lol =P

cmoborough wrote:i voted for this just so you would quit woot

+1.

I also voted for it. The best part is, not a single person will leave Woot JUST because this bag wins. They get to rage far too often over ramyb's designs, and if they quit, they'll actually have to find something else to do with their time. I own a bunch of ramyb shirts, but there's been plenty that I passed right over. Every week, though, I vote for his designs and no others JUST to watch this theater unfold time and time again.
