Re: Haunted Housework

My heart is already set on wearing this on Halloween (over a black turtleneck and black jeans; it's *cold* on Halloween here!) when I give out treats to the goblins at my door, so this just better print! I agree that glow-in-the-dark ghosts would be the icing on the cake, but I'll love it either way.

I've had to live with people like this shirt represents and I swore never to use the kitchen once the absurdity of uncleanliness began.

I like having people over, and I also refuse to clean up someone else's mess. Eventually I gave up trying to help them, and had to suffer from social withdrawal in what was my own place.

Bottom line is that this sort of habit is VERY unhealthy for both the person involved and others that are required to involve themselves with said person.

I had no idea that "cat's on Roombas" was an internet meme, I'm just an old cat lady (in her late twenties) who saw this and thought it depicted the superiority of cats over dogs perfectly.

Hey hey now! Stop bringing in politics to a shirt.woot discussion. The whole cats vs. dogs thing could start a firestorm greater than any three Ramyb designs combined. ;)

Thanks for the comments everyone!! I really liked doing this shirt. As for the v neck t-shirt it belongs to Doctor number 9 Christopher Eccleston.

These little guys were just going to be side characters in a larger design, but I had so much fun working on them that they just took over. If they make you feel good the same way they did for me, please vote.

I like, though that is one GIANT cat. Not that I object to giant cats, in a general sort of way. Just saying the disparity in size between the critters kindof messes up the composition. The dog looks like it was pasted on top of the cat, etc. Nicely illustrated otherwise, though. I really like the idea.

I see what you're saying- a little more shading would have done the trick to have them sit together better. As for the size, that's my wife's dog and cat (Mikey and Cosmo, respectively), and the cat is bigger. Mikey's a tiny guy. Glad you like it.

Re: Daily Chores

I almost don't want to see this shirt print, not because I don't like it, but because I like his one of his other designs better and I'd feel guilty voting for three shirts by the same person. I have to say, Ramy can be really hit or miss for me, but this week he had some definite hits!

That being said, GMV and go Ramy go! You could get all three this week (although that's super super unlikely)

You got him out of basic blacks? I now suspect you of mind-control technology and will be watching the skies with interest to see if your invasion force is following.

I think without the boarder it would look more like the argyle that I think you were going for. But then you'd definitely need someone pushing a mower to get the chore message across.

Clever idea though. People like that argyle stuff.

Re: Chores Goddess

I'm chiming in to register support for the legless design. It's hard to do legs in this style that wouldn't be distractingly exploitative and suggest a need for celery, as noted earlier in the thread. (Link contains moderately risque images.)

It's a woman with an absurd number of arms, in vintage half-tones, and there is no background. Not drawing the legs just underscores that it's a stylized image. The bar for realism is not high here.

The Ninth Doctor definitely wore different colored jumpers. Burgundy, navy, purple, black, and green. Burgundy one was in the episodes Rose, End of the World, and Boomtown. Not that I'm obsessed or anything.

Thanks, for the legless support
The main reason was that it'd throw off the design, and the perspective as it is would've hidden most of the legs anyway.

Sorta bummed that this one didn't do better, but it'll find a home in my design book somewhere, I guess. Thanks for the votes so far.

Next time the girl will have six legs! mwa-a-a-a!

Overall, I love it. Excellent color choices, layout, style, etc. The one thing that's bothering me? The bellybutton. I know, I know, it's not exactly a realistic scene, but for some reason it's driving me crazy...it's probably just me.

I love the idea, and it looks great! It looks more like bird than bat guano... Bat guano is more often observed in pellet form..... But, sure, I'll go for artistic liberties with science for a good cause!

My first draft didn't have the border. However, the thickness of the mow lines cutting off at the printable area border seemed a bit too abrupt. Then I thought about how how I mow by trimming the edges first followed by the interior. So I ended up with this design. I think if I could have used the entire length of the shirt I would have ommitted the border edge. Should have just done that anyway since I was falsely rejected for "Outside Printable Area" despite being totally inbounds.
