Just finished announcing a football game against the team ranked 1st or 2nd in the State of CA - we lost 24 - 16, but we're also several divisions below them, so they get the win, but we'll get a lot of respect. Looks like Halloween has started early on Woot this year.

Nice to see Illiterate Rainbow show some movement - very simple and very funny. I usually don't get baby blue shirts - not a manhood issue, I have a belly shelf that tends to accumulate unremovable stains - but I forsee it making my students' brains explode! 9th graders tend to be overly literal and it gives me a chance to loosen up their thinking. Yes, a least one of my students will ask me if it's true that 9 out of 10 rainbows are illiterate - my reaction to that has to be a carefully balanced combo of mild amusement and subtle teaching.

Who cares about the Emmy's?!! Will Illiterate Rainbow escape Reckoning? Is Der Mond's move up the charts too little, too late? Will I remember to buy extra copies of a couple of shirts before 10 a.m. PST?

A brief escape, then the battle between 19-21 sent the illiterate rainbow back into the danger zone. And so, the quest to escape continues, with less than 12 hours left now.

Where is DianaSprinkle posting the first day sales numbers? I have tried to keep track of first day sales ever since I realized that number affects the reckoning in the first few weeks. I got the same numbers you used for this week's except I have 1655 for Slow and Steady. I didn't mark it as an estimate, so...

I thought I was the only non-designer who kept track of first-day-sales. Just a bean-counter hobby....

This looks like an exciting morning for the reckoning. The last real exciting reckoning was when the bunnies finally stayed in the Danger Zone. Well, it was the most memorable to me!

9:40 to go!

Yeah, yeah, I know I said I wasn't going to look, but I did, OK?! And this one was a close one alright.

It also looks like 20th place was saved by a familiar individual too. Since it's not your own, I say thank you. It's indeed a beautiful design.

Wouldn't exactly call it a save, since it was in 19th, but I've been on the fence about it and it's a beautiful design- didn't want to let it slip by and regret it later in case some shenanigans happened (which it seems they did)

Staff

Wrap 'em up! This week we've got FIVE old timers heading the way of the buffalo. That's a pretty strong showing for the noobs, so take a second and check out our Reckoning page to not only bid farewell to those who will no longer be with us come midnight, but to admire the stunning victory of those who managed to grasp greatness and reach the Top 20. Head on over, pay your respects, and pick up a shirt before it disappears tonight at midnight! Today's your last chance to buy:

I followed some of the sales numbers over the last hour, and there seemed to be an effort to save Rainbow (about 6 sales in the last 10 minutes). The only other shirts with boosts in sales were the Wrench (about 7 sales in the last hour) and Life Choices (about 6 sales in the last hour). Der Mond had about 4 in the last hour...Juniper Tree had none!

Ah, OK. I only did two spot checks this morning ... one at t-minus 30, and one at the bell, so I didn't see all the action in between.

On Friday (look at the last DSR numbers), the three noobs were more slated to be up against Unstealthiest Ninja and Cheese. The sales numbers were a bit weaker over the weekend, however, so they ended up battling In the Library, Life Choices, and SS&B BBQ instead. All 6 were just mere shirts away from one another.

FWIW, I bought ZERO this morning. My wallet is still trying to recover.

PS: Glad to see the WootBot is working today.

By the way. Valve has been offering Portal via Steam for free this past weekend (ends the 20th), so I'm not sure if that has or will have any effect on "Cheese". Suffice to say, my son now understands the true meaning behind his "cool mouse shirt".

If it did, I haven't seen it yet. Cheese's sales have actually been on the downward trend in recent weeks, so any uptick would be noticable.

I'm excited that Der Mond made it into the top 20, not just because it's an awesome design (which it is!), but also because now I have at least one more week to decide whether I'm going to buy it or not. I probably will get it in the end, but I'm still not sure if I'd ever actually wear it.

capsfanbryce wrote:Looks like now is the time to pick up a copy of In the Library With the Wrench. Might not get another chance at acquiring it.

... on the other hand, it's too bad that In the Library got Reckoned. I just bought one... Alas, I was prepping for a job interview this morning, so I didn't think to come get one before the bell in hopes of pushing it back up into the top 20. (Sorry, walmazan & kevlar!) But of course, if I had done that and it had worked, it would have put Der Mond back in the danger zone... CONUNDRUM!

I've loved so many of the designs recently that my wallet is definitely starting to feel the pain... but I had a very successful yard sale this weekend, so I feel okay about putting some of the proceeds from that into woot shirts.

LOL I post them in the comment section of the shirt themselves. I used to do this about a year or two ago as well but I drifted away after a bit. So, I'm glad to hear someone else is also keeping track just in case I take a nap or I'm traveling or something.

I started doing it mostly because I'd look back in time and have a hard time figuring out how a shirt sold. Since the sell out number has changed over time and people only post a first day sells number if it's lower or higher than they were expecting I just started posting them to keep track. The fact that now Narf can do something with the number is a neat bonus.

I think one of the shirts updated a few minutes later with a sale logged before the midnight cut off so I updated my number to include that sale... I think that was Slow and Steady, but I'm not sure.
