Woot's / The Reckoning's future-based accounting method means that newer shirts will look worse in ranks than older shirts. As the week progresses, though, the additional days get accounted in and become par on Monday.

The woot-based DSR is indicative of the shirt's rank in the reckoning. The "real time" DSR is a better indicator of how a shirt is selling up to the time of the post. Even though I don't post them anymore on weekends, as not to create an easy competitive (dis)advantage to any shirt, I can say that the two numbers close in a much more by Sunday night (T-minus 12 hours).

Narf - I found out this past day three bad things:

1 - my daughter still has someone at her school who is still a problem for her (college, not middle school)

2 - my main hard drive died after a month, which is why I am up right now.

3 - my first days sales numbers are NOT the true first day sales numbers IF there are still $10 sales pending. Sort of like the cut-off issue that affected the Reckoning when not final sales could impact the Reckoning. (Bunnies anyone?)
I had hoped that the first numbers were ALL of the first days sales, but as discussed by the artist, Diane and I in Luke's thread, it appears that the true number of first day sales will only be known by the artist and Woot if there are first day sales that post after the sales numbers go up.

I will still try to get the first numbers posted for the sales because these numbers are comparable to each other and I have been doing this for some time but they are not the final first day sales.

Are my first posting numbers good for you? Do you want them? How much data from August and September have I lost? Will I still be at my computer when my son's alarm goes off so he can go to work - that one is true.....

Ugh, reminds me of when I went to school in France....we walked both to and from school in the dark when it was winter (uphill! in the snow! with wolves!...ok none of those last 3 things were true). Remarkably depressing.

Golux - the last time I had a really really crappy day, I ended up finding/buying at Goodwill a Wacom tablet, a 22" Samsung LCD, and a woot shirt. It was $72 well spent. YMMV, of course.

As for the numbers ... yes, they're helpful even if not 100% spot on - it's not like my baseline figures are exactly at 12:00 midnight, so there's a chance for some variation already. It's not humanly possible to catch every sale during a woot-off either, hence why the resulting calculations are "approximate". But they're all close enough to work, and together, it adds that informational aspect to how the Reckoning works, not to mention a way for the artists to see how their shirts are progressing over the week(s) too.

For those still not understanding all the numbers us nerdier folks discuss here ... (D)aily (S)ales (R)ate that's over 20 is good; under 20, not so good.

And I just noticed, WootBot needs to lay on the bottle more. 30 shirts listed ... good job there.

Good point - usually the OCD would kick in at this point and I'd have to spend time figuring out which one's are the extras, but I gotta get to the union meeting!

Will the fastest selling shirt make it, or will it be outdone by a rainbow? We'll find out ...

Snooze is the worst seller, but that's because the people who would actually buy it are always asleep.

The three noobs continue their way up in ranks and won't stop rising until Monday. And a strong bystander is waiting in the wings. It's just another week of the reckoning ...

Last week, I bought my friend a copy of In The Library With the Wrench because she wanted one, but kept forgetting to buy it herself.

Now this week I'm faced with a terrible choice. Both Juniper Tree and Der Mond are fantastic designs. I can only permit myself to buy one of them. (I know I have no interest in any Hipster Animal winners this week.) The question is, which one?

I may have to flip a coin.

You can't go wrong with either one, but by the (real time DSR) numbers, Juniper Tree has a better chance of making it; Der Mond is unlikely to.

Just bought two Cheese because, based on Narf's calculations, it's at risk and I may not be able to get to the website to order anything Monday.

I fear for Cheese next week. We may finally see it escape the testing center. Both Luke and the pillow-fighting samurai appear poised to knock a couple noobs off, and I suspect one of the hipster animals might make it out as well.

On a related note, I keep wondering if any shirt will ever take over Skate Town's dubious honor, although QR is the closest we've seen in a long time.

FWIW, Skatetown is NOT the lowest selling Woot shirt ever. I made a note of it ... at work, so it'd have to wait until at least Monday.

On another note, shirt.woot's 4th birthday shirt is still available. Along with a shirt that proves wooters will buy anything, the random shirt shirt.

LOL, Staketown sold 158 so it has to be under that. Maybe it was one of the birthday shirts or a woot special Tee. Waiting is hard.
