Instead of an X, what about a the classic circle-with-a-line-through-it?

No.2 except less grass, (ie. grass from number 1, just done the colour of number 2's grass). The grass colour in two is a definite improvement, imo only, as is the zebra's head sticking out.
Hope this helps, rather than confuses!

Other than that I think it looks neat.

It's not a cute bunny, or button-eyed. I drew this because I was picturing the bunny as ON Safari, not as the subject of the safari. He's riding an Okapi, because I figured the animals available for the Safari tourists to ride would be local animals, and the Okapi seemed the coolest still practical to ride.

It's not a bunny, it's a hare.

See, I think the grass in 1 detracts from the starkness of "zebra on background" and was thinking it could extend in a uniform manner as part of the "band" instead of patchy as depicted. But it may be best to just leave it off entirely. (artists discretion)

I agree that the grass can be distracting, however I think as a design it looks better with a little bit left in there, in the darker colour, even if it's only really noticable up close. Or perhaps because it's only really noticable up close.
(Are we helping???? ;0P)

If so...yes...Woot doesn't offer the orange shirt anymore. It was dropped a while back, and slate and silver were added.

thanks... i am clearly new here. Can someone point me somewhere where i can better understand the colors you are allowed to use.

I am assuming the color swatches provided with the illusrtator template are what you are limited to (orange included), but where do i find the same colors in photoshop? is that silly question?

You can use any six colors you'd like for your design. You can stick to pantone, or woot will match as best they can. The color of the tee has to be one of the colors woot offers. So, if you're using the tee to get a 7th color, then use the swatch (eye dropper works). If you scroll to the bottom of the page, there are Artist links--check them out. Also, elsewhere in the World of Shirt.woot forum, there are threads with tips and help.

Because orange is no longer a Woot shirt color. They dropped it back a couple of months when they added Silver and Slate. The same time they axed Heather.

can you send in drawings for the derby or does
it have to be computer animated?

maybe it's because of the recent theatrical re-release but I'm kind of sad about the number of Lion King references in this derby. It's one of my favorite movies and probably the one movie I've seen more times than any other, but somehow it didn't even cross my mind when I read the word "Safari".

There are some good designs in the running here, but it's kind of depressing how much things are getting phoned in around here.

Best derby in a while!! There are at least 4 shirts in the fog right now that I would buy. Hopefully there are 1 or 2 editor's choice shirts, cuz I want them.

This is the best derby in ages! There are so many fantastic entries I don't even know which ones I want to win. If only woot could print around half of them.

Congrats to all designers, you have outdone yourselves

You can send a drawing, but it has to be in electronic form - scanned in. You'll need to upload it from your computer to the submission page. My very first entry was hand drawn and colored, then scanned and uploaded. It's not the typical way for an entry to be created, but it is done. Just pay very careful attention to the rules about colors. If you hand draw and color, then scan, you'll probably end up with sublte variations in color shades that Woot can't reproduce.

Judging by the entries, it must be sunset twenty-four hours a day in Africa.

i cant draw it this week but anyone remember the ray bradbury "the veldt". its about a future world where kids go into a room and can make it an immersive 3d experience (sight, smell, touch, etc). *spoiler* it becomes real and the kids (probably) get eaten

somehow gotta play off the recent fad of 3D movies & tv and reaching out to touch an animal but actually being on the savannah with real animals
