What little charge they have will soon be gone. (c'mon, don't make me explain the jokes)

Yeah, but that belt just looks like a standard utility belt, without the post there is no way to tell at all that solar powered is part of the joke. It just looks like an owl with NV.

It's true that you could charge the cells during the day and use it at night, and while that's not exactly common it's hardly outrageously impractical.. in fact..

I just don't think it's clear enough, and don't think it's useless enough to be on theme..

Owls already have night vision. So this is essentially a very expensive hat. :D

The invention part is that it's a gadget specially miniaturized and tailored for a small owl and made even more useless by being solar powered. I think the joke and the pointlessness is pretty clear, but hey, you're entitled to your opinion.

Re: World's Finest Screwdriver

What's amazing is how many of these useless inventions being created for this derby have a bit of truth behind them. In this case, there really is an online store that will sell you a quarter for $2.95 to use as a screwdriver. Specifically marketed for people overseas who don't have the coin that some screws were specifically designed for.

The derby isn't "Existing things re-purposed" I could take an ice pick, poke people with it, and call it modern social networking, but it's still an ice pick, which I didn't invent, and it isn't new.

Decaf makes as much sense as non-alcoholic beer ... WHAT'S THE POINT?!

(Unless you're a SB "barista" ... then decaf makes great sense.)

FWIW, my cousin worked at a SB for 3 years, and she's only had to decaf someone twice. I applaud her restraint.

I love the idea of this, and would totally vote/buy if it were just the gadget on the shirt, but I can't help being slightly creeped out by the guy eating the muffin tops. He reminds me a little bit of the clown from "IT"... I think it's the hair. Sorry Walmazan

"Gadget to enhance everyday life"

My design is a critique to modern society and how people are less interactive and personal with each other while using all these gadgets that “help” them socialize. I am a victim as well in this whole networking mess. I’ve found that, lately, I prefer being by myself than socializing in person with other people. The design aims to remind me and others that we need to go back to the basics in some areas and be less dependent on modern “commodities”.

Re: The Wife

I find this highly offensive... As many wives and mothers would nowdays. Considering I have a husband who does the cooking, cleaning, and anything else in the house while I work because he cant. This isnt the 1600's where women were still demeaned to this.

I may seem insane in your mind, but I assure you, this is all quite real... Only those worthy to see my awsomeness can see what's happening infront of them.
