Too sweet. Thinking that putting it on vanilla ice cream might be beter.

Ten years ago. Got a Kenmore Elite. Happy so far. Would definitely go with a stainless steel tub and, I think, double disposal in it.

What is the approved mourning time before you can look for a new one?

We got a new dishwasher last year. I second the stainless steel, been very nice.

If it died on the weekend.....10 minutes. That is how long it takes to get to the closest appliance store.

As it is, died at 6pm. Will go looking for a new one right after lunch tomorrow.

Good to know the protocol.

Raining. Think there might be a few flakes, too.

I wonder if the stove will follow?
Stove is from 82. Looks awful. The child safety locks scratched it.
Then the knobs were cheap plastic and they broke. So now one is missing and the oven knob is broken and has to be lined up by hand to see the temperature

But the stove itself works just fine. Plus it has a loud, working, timer.
I love that timer!
It has two ovens. I use the top one and the bottom one has all the pots and pans in it.

Back in the 60's my mom got a dishwasher that could accept a panel the same as the cabinets . That was nice!

Plus I don' t like stainless steel. Seems like it is hard to keep nice.

I meant on the inside, the outside of mine is black (and it is too shiny, shows little finger prints).

The stove was by far the oldest appliance when we moved in. Other than replacing the element, it's still working fine (and it's ugly too).

Yes, I realized you mean the inside.

One problem is the better appliances are now stainless.
I realized that stainless is hard to keep nice, so forget it.

Guess I'll get white. Right now the cabinet doors are white. They won't be if we do anything to the kitchen.

Neither do I. Seems really sterile to me. Once I got rid of the harvest gold, I swore I'd never have anything but white.

Just got rid of the harvest gold freezer a few months ago. Washer and dryer a year or so ago. It was at least better than that ugly avocado.

I just purchased a new dishwasher - white on the outside and stainless on the inside - a Bosch. Very quiet and does a good job. Middle of the line. Does not have all the bells and whistles because I never used the 10 odd programs and combos thereof on the 5 year old model that died (tall tub maytag).

Heh, that's what I bought when I moved into the house 2 years ago. No problems so far. Stainless steel finish. That's kinda required these days for resale. Sigh.

What does a dishwasher need?
Full wash and gentle?
I never used anything else on mine.
Honestly just used gentle a handfull of times.

Any problems with drying?
Mine didn't have enough vents and stuff never dried.
If I opened the washer after the water drained and let the steam out, the stuff was dry even without running the heat.

Google How to choose a dishwasher

That will give you idea of the features that are out there now.

I wanted quiet & adjustable shelves for tall stuff on the bottom rack.

Good morning everybody! Thanks AZ and all the other vets!

Poof, my Mom's meds are patches now and were pills before but I don't know if they are different. How is BIL and Sister?

KtC sorry about the bug. Hope it will run it's course soon. Seems inevitable that everybody has to have it.

No school so Daughter2 will sleep late. I have an appointment with the surgeon for my cataract at 9:30. I want to get it done before 12/31 because I've already met my deductible!

See you guys later.

Morning!

Well, they're probably not pink now, but they were earlier.
