Yeah, then Hubby tells him to drive it back down here so we can get it fixed.

What? 3 hour drive with no headlight and maybe mechanical problems . Son is no judge if it is ok.
In the rain.

Then I'm in trouble for pointing out how stupid that is.

He has a new girlfriend. Maybe they know a body shop.

Then there is the rule you have to be 25 to get a rental. Which means he takes my car and I get the rental.
How do you travel for business with that rule?

I've never met a 25 year old that got to travel for business where they needed to rent a car. They either didn't go anywhere, had a company rig and were going driving distance, or had a coworker with more experience going with them. And you can rent a car under 25 it's just insanely expensive.

Your insurance company will recommend an approved body shop.

Also, there are a couple companies with lower age requirements but there is an extra per day charge.

Hubby actually told him to drive, in the rain, tomorrow. Back here. Get the rental car, bring in his car an go back.

In the rain, on the highway, with one headlight. Not knowing if the car was really OK.

I yelled at them and now he is coming home on Friday, in the sun.

But not hubby is mad at me.

honestly, he won't be the only one driving at night with one headlight.
I think rain on the interstate makes it much harder to see other car, even in the day, than a city street at night. For 3 hours vs a few miles.

ROFL. Ran upstairs to caulk son's tub real quick. Found a spot on the kitchen ceiling where his tub had leaked. I'm hoping that will fix it.

Is Amazon the best place to get boxed sets of old TV shows?

I'd price search. Amazon is generally good, but other places have deals frequently.

I usually find the title via them and then go to Google Shopping to see if there's a better price anywhere.

No idea what to get my b-i-l for Christmas. Soon, about the most he's going to be able to do is watch TV. This could be the last Christmas. I was thinking the complete set of Cheers maybe.

Wait!
One more gripe before I go.

My left pinky has a new lump on the top joint.
Damn
Sometimes the lumps hurt like hell when they are growing.
Sometimes there is no pain at all.
I still surprised there is nothing that can stop it.
Stupid arthritis.
You would think there would be more that could be done with it. So many people have it.

If this lump is like the others, it will never hurt. Just look awful. Forever.

My feet passed the KT test, nothing awful about them.
But I had beautiful hands. Really nice.

I miss them.

OK, gripe for today is over.
Gripe again tomorrow!

Dr in the afternoon. pap smear day.
I will tell the nurse about the " a little touch, a little pressure"
Then he will say it and we will laugh.

Nurse sister in law worked for him when she was a new nurse.
She said that he says that before every exam and it drove her nuts!

Check around, there is one of the bigger companies (maybe enterprise) that will rent to 21 yr olds. My daughter used them once or twice when she was under 25.

Good morning everybody!

Ice how is FIL?

It is raining hard. I hope it quits so we can run. The big lab was not impressed with the rain. She wants to stay inside where it is warm and dry.

I can't find daughter2's Social Security card. I even have a copy of the application where I applied for it before she went to preschool. I have the envelope it came in. Their office is over the river and through the woods. It is fifty air miles at the most, but an hour and a half drive. I can apply for a replacement by mail but I would have to send her passport with the app.

edit: Stopped raining long enough to get in a one mile run. Started raining as soon as we got back in the car.

Yes! And dinner tends to be a moving target for us--we think of something we'd like, but then who will make it, and when they'll be home, and when we'd like to eat, and if we don't have all the ingredients, who will pick them up...gah! It's frustrating. We end up with dinner plans for other nights, but still no clue what to eat tonight.

We have a brand new supermarket in the neighborhood!
Not big by suburban standards, but big for here and really big for a city supermarket.
Nice and new and shiny

Would make shopping fun, for at least a week.

Deer come out of nowhere most of the time. I have also learned to wait a few seconds after one nearly misses me, because they are often traveling in pairs. Glad son is OK.
