Son and girlfriend came at 1:30am

Son was up and ready to go at 10am

Got car back.

Returned rental.

Went out for breakfast.

They are gone.

Oh, the "she can sleep in Heathers room" didn't happen.

But tree is decerated. House is presentable, not real clean, but presentable.
I use to do spring cleaning before putting up the Christmas stuff. No more.

Six hours in surgery, will be iffy for three or four days. Three out of ten make it out of that surgery, but so far she's doing well.

Greetings! The second coat of paint is being put on everything as we speak. Tomorrow is the grouting. All the trim is in the garage with two coats of paint.

I figure today is probably the warmest it's going to be until spring (60* No1), so I got the windows washed in the new room.

Something was said about getting the washer and dryer up here this weekend, so somebody must be working Sat.

I'm slurping up a bourbon slush. I need to make a fresh batch for New Year's Day, so I need to finish off what's left. Right?

Guys behind us in the yard, cut down all the trees in their yard.
There were 2 huge pine trees. Use to be three, one fell years ago.
Good thing they are gone, they were right next to the power and phone lines. Not only would they hit a house, garage, or both, but would take out all the lines on the telephone poles if they went the wrong way. They were maybe 60 feet high? Maybe less, but too high for the amount of land.

Plus, pine needles get knitted together and screwed up my gutters.

They took all the small trees down too. Is empty back there..
Now the telephone poles look awful .

I let a tree that was hidden in the bushes when we moved in , grow.
It is almost full size now. I left it because that house was in bad enough shape 30 years ago, that I figured someone would gut it and clear cut the land. I was right! Took 30 years, but it happened.

I would like to pass a law that every yard needs one tree that would be at least 20 feet high. Not so big it will damage the house if it fell.
Just one.

This is the 4th house to cut down all the trees Only my yard and the yard behind me have any now.
houses on both sides of me and the yard behind me have none.

Mailed the box to PA this morning, all except for the item from Kohl's, who told me it should be delivered between the 19th and 22nd. And when I got home, guess what was on the porch. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

I want to order something from this company:
http://www.christmaslightsetc.com/Basket/?Action=AddItem

But it only has http, not https. Is it still okay? I keep hearing that the "s" is important.

Wow, I was just wandering around the internet and found the house on the block that is for sale.

All the new owner did after buying it was scrub it, refinish the wood floor and paint.

Windows, kitchen, bathroom, roof, siding, and landscaping all still from 1950's.

Owner wants to flip it for 25% more than he paid.

Except, right on the ad page is the prior history. Shows the price he paid last year.
Real estate might have stabilized, but it sure isn't going up.
Guy is nuts.
The tenants moved out last week.

Hullo all. Had a busy but boring day. Moved macs at 3 campuses in the morning. Worked on (wait for it....) iPads in the afternoon. Got snapped at by 2 people. Went to back dr and called it an early day since I worked through lunch. Extra long nap on a rainy day.
