Not much employment opportunity after the war, things weren't very good there for many years. The war almost bankrupted them they had been fighting in it since '39. (As was Canada and the other British Empire countries)

Good morning y'all. Nice quiet at-home day yesterday. Gotta swing by vet for Maisy's happy pills and son wants to eat at Chili's so I guess our day is somewhat planned.

Afternoon!

I'll see about taking pics. Really, we only have 3 show tanks--and the reef has only been up a little while so it's not fully established.

I always had 2 tanks in the house growing up. Never bigger than 50 gals.

Never set up more than a 10 gal tank myself and somehow I just can't get it to stay clean. I have a stand for a 30 gal tank, because I realized that they old metal frames were hard to get. No tank. Just a frame in a box.

30 Gallon Frogfish

47 Gallon reef

36 Gallon Chili Rasboras, cherry shrimp, corydoras hasbrosas

45 Gallon Glofish and Dwarf Crayfish

Dwarf crayfish

90 Gallon Dwarf Puffers, otocinclus, and bristlenose

Dwarf puffer in quarantine

LOL!!! no kidding - that's a lot of water!

I haven't had a tank in a long time. My dad & step-mom had a 7 foot salt water tank for a while. I've seen all of the work that goes into that. no thanks, or should I say tanks.

Fishy!

Love it! Always loved fish tanks!

Very nice.

My grandparents lived next door. Grandpa would feed the fish when we went away. Dad would leave each days worth of food wraped into a piece of paper (this was pre ziplock bad days)

Grandpa was amazed that the fish would all swim to the top of the tank when they saw him!

Think the insurance would offer a deduction?

Since SO and I both like them, we don't think it is too much. we've another 10 or so tanks empty in storage.

Not moving again is definitely the plan. . And while it is a lot of water, most of our fish are less than an inch long. So even if there are 50 of them, it doesn't seem like a lot.

Morning all.

Pretty sure poof is still in PA dealing with family stuff.

Evening folks. Virtual son is here. Took the boys to Red Robin for dinner. They're in the other room putting together the K'nex Mario Kart sets I bought them for Christmas. Still fun for 20 yr olds.

We haven't tried it yet. Was too crowed for months.

Went to the art museum today
They had Tiffany's art and a few windows and lamps.
Then they had 5 pieces of lego art from this guy http://www.brickartist.com/

He left a job as a successful nyc lawyer to become a master builder of legos!

Virtual son works at the local Legoland and is an apprentice builder. He gets to work with their master builder on the huge stuff they build.

There is more than one person making a good living making lego art.
This guy entered a lego contest. Won. Left his law practice to work at the lego store.

You make a fortune as the type of lawyer he was, but they own you, body and soul. Endless hours.
I wonder how he had the time to make whatever he entered?

Son saw some pieces from a different artist in a mall near him. Some ladies were talking about seeing stuff in the mall of america, when they were looking at this guys stuff.

I just checked the website and realized I saw him on the Cobert Report a few years ago.

So Virtual son might be rich someday!

Ask him if he'll make me a lego Rusty at a reduced price when he is famous.
