Re: Cookie Postmortem

I like recipe related tshirts and this is a great way to do it. I am just concerned that there are so many words, that the best lines on the shirt may be overlooked or distorted.

I'd like this better as a poster.

Re: The Breakfast Ritual

This is the intro to Dexter, right? RIght down to the blood on the eggs and the red grapefruit. Love that show! Makes me feel less awkward for having a twisted sense of humor because, hey, if it's still on the air then other people must laugh too.

Re: Makin' Bread

I don't think it's cluttered at all, I think the cat stands out fine because of his color and movement.

Detail isn't a bad thing, this wouldn't be nearly as charming if it was just a cat kneading dough in front of a generic background.

yanimator wrote:Hi, I am Kevin Yan, I am a freelance illustrator, and am also known as yanimator online and at anime conventions I frequent. A friend of mine directed me to this design today. It copies a very popular print I have designed and sold at anime conventions for the past 1.5 year.

Here is a link from my personal webpage:

http://yanimator.deviantart.com
http://artvoxstudio.com

Ramy and Seki have been known to rip off artists' concepts, including my own at anime cons. So I feel this should be brought to the attention of the community. Thanks.

______________________________________________

Um, I normally stay out of this kind of thing. I'm not a RamyB "supporter", and actually don't own a single shirt of his. I rarely do vote in the derby's and usually it's only for a handful of designs I would actually purchase, which usually doesn't include one of RamyB's (sorry dude).

That being said, this is the biggest load of horse manure I've ever read. As someone who sees you constantly at conventions, raking in RIDICULOUS numbers of sales off of numerous other people's trademarked and copyrighted characters, you really have no leg to stand on here. This joke isn't new. It was around almost as soon as Ocarina of Time came out, which was back in 1998. Since I didn't see you at the conventions back then, it's safe to say you hadn't done this image then.

I've watched RamyB on the con circuit, ever since I heard about his "dishonesty" here on Woot. I can honestly say that I have NEVER seen a single instance of any of the sheisty behavior that people like to lay on the guy. He doesn't sell his shirts from Woot. Hell, he doesn't even sell PRINTS of his shirt designs. He has ONE table at conventions, not multiple ones. He does not sell Seki's art, and she does not sell his, so allegations of their collusion are bogus. You and your girlfriend DO, so lay off the "moral high ground" BS.

People need to use their eyes eyes instead listening to hearsay. You may dislike the fact that RamyB prints a fair amount, even though you feel he doesn't "deserve" it, but personal attacks like this are garbage and are needlessly destructive. In this case, your claim is completely unfounded.

You are a phenomenal artist, but pulling this kind of stuff just makes you look childish. RamyB's design is almost nothing like yours, except that they both use the same joke, which NEITHER of you "invented". Rely on your talents as an artist and keep the pot-shots out of it.

The print quality is really great for DTG, and the shirt quality is good (you can choose from a bunch of different styles). Their default stores look kind of yucky, but you can edit them to make them look nice if you know some coding. I wouldn't have used them if I had to just use one of their default store templates (bleh!). You should do it! E-mail or PM me if you want more info.

Re: When Paula Deen Diets...

I'm confused why this one got rejected.

So, it's ok to do "a satirical take down of Guy Fieri and how he looks like a fat Corey Feldman" (according to the derby description), but as soon as some butter sticks revolt against Paula Deen, that's taking it too far?

omarfeliciano wrote:Awesome work with only 6 colors

I'm glad you like it! It's just a matter of deciding which colors you can't go without (like a white-ish color for egg whites and yellow for the yolk, a orange-pink for the bacon), trying to see where you can double dip with color in other places (the yellow in the yolk is used again for the breads and cereal) and remembering to use the shirt as a color.

For the shirt, I like it, but I can't give it my vote. I bought your other carnivorousness rabbit shirt so I can't justify letting you use the same idea, even though it is funny, just rehashed for another derby. Otherwise it is a great design.
