I think this is awesome and by far the best in this derby, no idea why it isn't in the top choices. The whole concept works for me. Forget the guy who was talking about excess dough, the building consept wouldn't work as well without it. A+++ design man

Clearly, this "guy" has baked enough cookies in "his" lifetime to know that the gingerbread guy is doing it wrong.

If this shirt printed, I know at least 5 or 6 people I'd have to buy it for. I am surrounded by cookie monsters. Nice job!

Personally I'm thrilled to see Fable back in the derby. I missed out on buying the original carnivorous rabbit, so I find this pretty awesome.

Yeah I thought the "meatbunny" looked sort of familiar, thanks for referencing it with the link. That shirt was quite a while ago, so I see no harm in using the same "character" again. And yes the vegetarian bunny has a hilarious expression.

Re: Isn't it delicious

It's cute and all, but I have to agree that it doesn't seem fog-worthy. I feel like just presenting anthropomorphic food doesn't really do justice to the theme "in the kitchen." I don't get "in the kitchen" at all from this. I get "I like cupcakes." Even if a previous comment hadn't given it away, I would have guessed this was a design sitting around waiting to be submitted, not something inspired by the derby itself.

And the frosting doesn't even bespeak Marilyn's hair. :P

maura44 wrote:My thoughts exactly. This has been done so many times with different foods that it's not even worth debating over who "thought of it first." Besides, just because the design was posted on Threadless doesn't mean the other person actually saw it.

It probably is just a coincidence. That doesn't bother me. I just don't like the implication that I'm copying someone else's work.

I agree the extra dough is illogical, and some people would jump all over that and the shadows if this were "someone else's" design, but it works well enough as is, so there you go.
eta: and I get that you're not a "guy"

move along

The lack of detail makes it seem more authentic; 'cause, we're talking about a hot sauce bottle after all.

I mean, have you ever actually looked at the detail on the front of a Cholula bottle? That's totally Bob Saget's mug on there.

j5 wrote:I like this, I do, but two things bug me:
1. the burner ovals are askew. Guidelines would have helped with that.
2. Darth's mask looks a bit odd to me. Not sure why exactly.

#2 - It is the eyes, but not the blindness aspect as much as they appear to be sliding outward from under the helmet, following the nose-piece instead of being vertical. Makes the whole mask/head appear to be coming forward into a point at the nose.
Still, while I'm not a SW fan or even always thrilled when folks go for pop culture, this is a fun parody, and refreshingly different than vacuous chibi animals and reapers. Nicely done, ramyb!
