BTW, RE my early thought -"Darnit. I was just about set on a design of an exhausted doe bunny surrounded by her 987 babies! Or, er - well, as many as would fit on the shirt, as long as it was F(n)."
Please, feel free. I can't advocate for chibi subs featuring the Rabbit Experitment. While it isn't something I can pursue while I try to move, move jobs, etc. If you do it, do it well. No vacant-eyed multiplying lagomorphs, puh-leeze.

A while back, some months, someone did a sub that I think was based on the golden ratio - the perfect peroportions of a human female face. I recall commenting on how it reminded me of an old sci-fi/thriller, Looker, with Albert Finney and Susan Dey (written by Michael Chrichton). I'd like to get another look at that. Might work will with this theme, if you're reading.

Got it: Science of Beauty by sgr1021. It needed some work, but was PERFECT for this derby. Was a long time ago - over a year, in shirt.woot time. And yeah, our time, too. Still. I wish this artist were still about to refine/resub this.

Would binary be considered math? If so I have an awesome idea....if not then I'm out this week...was never any good at math. My husband says it is but I want to check with the wooters before I put in the amount of time and effort required for it.

This is supposed to be pi? Then there should be a tenth of a bird after the decimal point, and that looks like way more than a tenth. Plus, I'm sorry if I'm wrong, but I don't think this really qualifies as "math in nature."

Fair enough. But to be SUPER fair, in the contest description, theres the line "Or, y'know, put two little birds on a shirt and say something wheat grass like, "LOL COUNTING!!!1!" "

I have 3.14 birds here, so using math alone that should be considered a win. But more importantly, i say to you, good sir, that mine own entry is just as, if not more, absurd and wheat grass than that....while in keeping with the spirit of the prescribed rule-set.

If 2 birds using the English language merely MENTION'ing something math related will meet minimum requirements than this one should as well.

And the .14159 mag-pi at the end, well the number could be referring to any relative measurement; weight, density, average feathers-per square mile.....take ur pick...im sure one of them could be rationalized as being the 14% proportion needed to be in keeping with the gag. =)

I would definitely go for this, good choice for shirt color too. Reminds me of Android OS HoneyComb, which I am a fanboy of.

Ok, no answer on whether the "nature" has to be real or not, so here's what I've been working on...thoughts? Suggestions? I need to go to sleep since I have to work in the morning...

I actually thought it was supposed to be 1/4th of a bird, and that was just a clever way of representing the "14" in 3.14, but that was just me,,,

Is there any way you guys could work a Dyson Sphere into this? I really wish to live inside one of those things and am not opposed to advertising it.

Also, per Wikipedia: Not to be confused with Dyson ball.

Pros: The pills were there.
Cons: So was the tank.

I think a graphic representation of nature is fine, as opposed to realism. This isn't my kind of thing, but it's pretty.

I'm going to interject here and hopefully shut this door before it opens and causes a ton of headaches. I know it's not normally my nature, but I'd rather do it now then have to deal with a dozen entries like this later. See how I just used 'nature' there? Yes, it's a word, but clearly not what we are going for in this derby. We're looking for the other nature. So, no, finding a definition isn't going to sneak a non-nature related entry in this week. Be warned.

I don't know squat about math, except what I can Google (holdover from my headcase anti-establishment days), but I GET this. I don't need to know the fancy-named equations or whatthefrigever to get the symmetry and the abstraction.
Nice kick-off for the derby!

Thanks, I was considering adding the equation, but this suggests that would be overkill.

So, so gorgeous. If it doesn't get printed here, is there any way I can buy it somewhere else? Literally. I love it.
My only worry is that the grey won't show up enough on the shirt to make it clear.... anyone know the woot! printing well enough to clarify this?

It should print fine. I've gotten shirts where they printed gray on navy, and it looked/still looks good. Lighter inks on darker shirts usually are fine- it's the blacks on the navies and asphalts that is hard to see.

I have this, from the S derby - very similar in coloring. Looks just fine.
