Aww nuts, knew I should have went back and watched that part again before I typed that up. Ah well, thanks for the correction. Wouldn't want to offend any JP tee wearin' fans.

Good effort by the squirrel - hope she's got a big pile of leaves under her to land in!

Very cute design; should be popular in kiddo sizes, too.

Nova just had a show about this theory (T.O.E.). I guess the science geeks must have missed it.

Re: Human Dynamics

i like it...would be cool if you did the qrs complex over the heart, nerves over the spine, joints over the shoulders but then it might look disjointed...

I feel stupid that I it took me so long to get it. Now that I got it, its not such a bad design.

I just wish the overall design was a little smaller. I find the Woot shirts with a long design tend to fit differently and don't hold up as well :c

still got my +1 (which I find amusing in a math derby)

Re: Parametric Equations in Nature

I had a similar idea, and I was wondering if it could be too nerd (or if it would need too much explanation) and/or not cute enough.

GMV and thanks for saving me the design work .

GMV!!
Too bad Woot does not have a nerd section. We are not enough to make it print :S

vaiv wrote:wheres the math other than the title. Looks remarkably similar to some of Hokusai's wave paintings. Nice though.

The maths is IN THE WHOLE FLUID SIMULATION as well!!
That s why this is one of the most ontopic entries of the derby. But not understandable enough to make it fog.

Re: bioluminescence

Maybe the math is in all the assays that used bioluminiscence after it was discovered in a natural gene. (By the way, it looks like a couple of numbers qualify as "enough math" in this derby)

Really pretty.
Too bad I cannot get it yet :S
Would you be willing to explain to me where the math is represented?
Thanks

GredandForge wrote:Hey, I like the idea, but I think the art style is just so unoriginal. This is like every other woot-shirt-with-a-cute-animal-on-it, yah know? No offense. I just kind of wish there was more variance in art styles in the derby each week.
Good job though!

Regretably the "cute-style" wins on a regular basis. If a designer is trying to suppliment income in a tough economy then they have to start appealing to the masses. A more true statement would be I wish more people voted on the variety of art styles instead of propelling the woot-shirt-with-a-cute-animal-on-it into the win spot. Its not the designers its the voters.

The math arguments in some of these threads are classic.

Really effective design, hopefully it remains in the fog.

Re: Animal Math

Quoted from the contest page directly above the submissions:

No text only designs.
We want mathematics, not just arithmetic. Don't give us some lam e You+Me+Baby-Me=2 joke.

No offense, but it irks me when designs that blatently ignore the rules are in the fog, while other artists who follow them aren't. This is speaking from a non-artist point of view, not that that should have any impact upon the validity of the rules.
