I am routinely disappointed with anything math related... not this week though... unsure if I'll buy but things like this are a step in the right direction. Got to have the proper merger of art and math... otherwise you just look like a geek wearing a shirt.

I thought of Nevermore and groaned too... but I like it. A lot. And most of my friends/family are Big Bang fans so even though they wouldn't get it at first, all I would have to do is say, "Schrodinger's equation" and they would get it.

there's not enough parody in this shirt for woot to be able to run it. it features silhouettes of the fraggles dancing around, which is what they would do any other day on the show.

the binge does not specifically depict sesame street's cookie monster (even though we all know that's who the design is based on) because the face is not shown. the original binge shirt, if you go back to that derby, was rejected because it featured cookie monster as a whole character.

Love the Nautilus design where the math is absolutely NOT arbitrary. But for this design, I agree that the math is arbitrary. I understand what the golden ratio is and it doesn't appear in the moon with the landscape and trees and such. It does in the nautilus shell. Hence, arbitrary vs. not arbitrary use of it.

Phi stands for the golden ratio which of course is found in the golden spiral, golden rectangle, golden triangle, etc., etc. Also often found in plants as the angular spacing between leaves (in addition to many other examples).

3 colors on Navy. Posting a link to a bigger (less blurry) version soon... And of course, the angle of the halftone lines is the golden angle (137.5).

It is unfortunate that so many people are (again) targeting Ramyb for "not being original." Calligrams have been around for a very long time, well before the Nevermore tee-shirt. Calligrams made of equations (not just numbers) is however a first, as far as I know. This is an awesome idea and I really hope this tee-shirt wins.
