You're right, that's neat. I was thinking of the current reckoning team, in which case even my 11 was pretty generous.

Look at that! A jumping buy button on The Black Knight!

Just something I have in a spreadsheet locally that from time to time, I update and post in whatever week's discussion.

I think "Cheese" brought the woot target buying audience to critical mass. The sidebar ad push also likely introduced many to the reckoning as well.

I'm pretty sure that Cheese was my intro to shirt.woot - I was a daily visitor to deal.com and they were running info on the free Portal deal and someone posted a write-up on an incredible t-shirt that was available for $10 for the next 24 hours only. I knew nothing about Portal but the write-up on Cheese was so compelling that I clicked on the link... it took a few weeks to realize that I was addicted. Cheese was my gateway drug!

I'm wondering if we're getting to the point where it would be in Woot's interest to expand the Reckoning and have more than a top 20?

That's a great idea, really. I know they have expanded it twice already - from 10 to 15, then from 15 to 20. Expanding it to 25 or even 30 isn't a far stretch, as at any given time, there are 28-34 shirts already in the reckoning (plus the daily). It's not like it'll be substantially expanding into the vast catalog like Threadless has.

Except for having to keep some more inventory, I don't see any downsides to this. It's more selection for the customers, more sales to Woot, and more commissions to the artists.

Wow - I was going to say the same!! It seems unWootlike to shed a shirt that is consistently bringing in revenue. If I am remembering Narf's previous analyses correctly, the baseline for survival used to be 16 to 18 sales per day with occasional spikes to 20 per day, now it seems like that has reversed... If shirt.woot was able to survive and grow with a stable of shirts averaging 17 shirts per day then they must still be pretty profitable at that rate.

Diana mentioned that it was used to be about 15/day.

There have been a couple weeks in which even 26th place was selling like 18/day, though, and for week #219, even last place did 15/day.

FWIW, Nevermore's daily sales rate has actually INCREASED this week.

(Every time someone says something bad about it, its sales increase. It doesn't work for other shirts, however.)

It's been 4th place since Wednesday; I don't see Marsupial surpassing it. Cheese did move up another notch through the night, however.

I have a fancy spreadsheet in which I keep track of my collection. Mostly, at least. I have to add in the shirts (new and used) I've acquired over the past couple weeks. I definitely need to update my artist/color count list too, which might be skewed a lot, what with these that I want to trade out factoring in.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I created a small database with my small but growing collection. I started it so I could see which artists I bought the most of, and have expanded it a couple of times, to include other info as well.

Nothing to be embarrassed about at all, really. Me, I started with just the shirt name ... then I expanded it to include links, size(s), condition I purchased them in, shirt color, artist and even the artist's real name. I accidentally deleted the number of times worn column, though, so I don't keep track of that anymore. Probably TMI anyways, really.

On the top, I have (14) Walmazan's - 12 solo and 4 collaborations. Second place, (13.5) Robbie Lee's - 13 solo and 1 collaboration. Third place, (10) PatrickSpens, all solo.

Shirt colors I have the most of, (31) Black, (24) Asphalt, and (22) Navy.

Of the (14) artists in which I have over three of their designs, I have (8) of their first-shirt-printed-at-Woot. (4) more I don't, but I do have their second-shirt-printed-at-Woot.

Maybe if the so called "job creators" would spend some of their cash - must be nice to be getting substantial tax breaks - things would perk up. You have salable skills - the students I usually work with see no reason to get skills, but somehow think they're going to do fine. That's one of the things about teaching - when things get rough, folks go back to school and there are always more folks to teach.

Looks like we've got some serious fanny bashing coming up next week in the Reckoning! And Khione - beautiful shirt/not my style - looks suprisingly low compared to the others, even though in the olden days it's numbers would've been middling. Looks like this weeks biggies, plus last weeks monsters will continue the ongoing Reckoning clean-up - Will some of the long-lasting oldtimers meet their makers????

You mean Nevermore will finally be never more? Haha! - oops, my bad. I think I just bought it another week of life ...

I really hope not - at least not Questionable Table of Elements and Unstealthiest Ninja, both of which have been quite solid this week.

My guess is that Easiest Thanksgiving Recipe will fall, and the video game trifecta - Breakfast of Plumbers, Epic Fail, and The Cheese is a Liederkranz - will be ones most in line of having to battle it out.

I'd better get a back-up then... a related question: what does one do when a complete stranger gushes over a woot shirt? I was wearing Easiest Thanksgiving Recipe while doing last minute Thanksgiving shopping, studying my list and scanning the shelves, and suddenly there was a squeal/giggle from a young woman coming down the aisle from the opposite direction - I looked up and she said (with a red face) "I really like your shirt!". I laughed and thanked her and kept shopping... what do others do? She was with her husband/SO, was probably young enough to be my daughter, the aisles were crowded and chaotic... but she REALLY liked the shirt. I feel a little guilty for not telling her where she could get her very own pi recipe shirt

Thanks for doing your part to doom my shirt to get wiped out by the incoming freshmen.

Seriously, can't imagine how 'Thanksgiving' will make it through Monday. I have to buy one more for myself before it's gone...

I tell 'em where they can get one, especially if it's still being sold!

It's been mentioned in the Reckoning thread - maybe the jinx will save it
