Wait, that's hot sauce? I immediately thought of blood, but that's probably just my sick and twisted mind.

That panda's still adorable, though!

Wow, sarcasm. That's original.

Pop culture overload on this derby again, which makes me like this one even more. Gotta love the progression of their expressions as you go down the scoops too.

I like the new colors better! My only comment is that since you have red as a color on the bird, I would have liked to see a little red in the eye of the dragon to make it look angrier/more menacing. Just my two cents... Anyway, clever design! =)

I got the idea of the turtle paying for a flame paint job, and then the neon lights hit me and I had to draw it. :p I appreciate all the feedback on the lighting and execution.

Dumb ideas, drawn good. That's my motto. Now if I can just get that translated into Latin I could make the Spiritgreen coat of arms...

Re: See-Note

While you may make some points, I hope you realize that most people hear will only read it as "Wahh wahh wahh, my design won't sell, so I'll pick on other designs."

Intelligent commenting is a fifty-fifty thing around here at best. With that said, your design is too smart for most (myself included). I honestly see some eye on a shirt with some kind of defect. That is most likely why it was rejected. It has no apparent connections to the Derby. Once again I am not saying it has no connections, just that they are not readily apparent to most.

Now 100% chock full of little wind-up robots!

Re: Stuffed Parasite

The concept is great, but your follow through is lacking. If your target audience is Metroid fanboys, it needs to be drawn more to standard ( but this would run into copyright issues methinks). If your target is Wootians (i.e. cuteness lovers - 50+%) then it should be a little cuter. Make the metroid larger and more rounded than just a disk-like object and the Samus more like a withered husk. I liked the smile on the Metroid even if it isn't standard.

Having said all the above, I just wanted to say thank you. While it may not be the Metroid I would like to see, I can't draw and it's nice to know someone out there in Wootland is showing Metroid love.

Thanks again for the comments. I agree with you 100% about the whining, and I fear it is too late. Of course my feelers were hurt, and I realize a 'record' of the posts is pretty much permanent. But I thought maybe I would just try to explain the idea a bit more, and I also realize if you are explaining the idea too much it fails almost immediately, usually. And certainly here, in my case.

Ultimately I'd like to create a winner, that's the main goal! I'm not above drawing cute, and I even had a concept for this derby with chipmunks hunting fat little pigs, but I lack time and skill to render it.

So I mean no offense to lucky1988, its a great design, and probably a winner. I was mainly trolling for feedback, advice and a better feel for wooter tastes(and explaining my warped dry humour as well).

Thanks again for reading my rants. And I'm not smart, I can't seem to figure out a design until after about 3 or 4 days, like Monday night; so I'm quite the opposite of smart and clever. I'm a bit jealous of the pun-sters and designers here at woot, honestly. It is pretty high quality graphics to create, and I'm far from being competitive--yet. ;)

Re: No smoking in Wonderland

Normally I absolutely loathe pop culture designs, but I have to say, this one is great.

It's more than cramming familiar icons into a design for the masses to mindlessly salivate over, like we are used to seeing around here. It actually has a clever joke and uses a character that isn't from Nintendo, Star Wars, or Dr. Who. Something I don't think a lot of artists realize can be accomplished.

Well done! And for the first time in a long time, I'm voting for a pop culture tee!
