Unstealthiest Ninja II may be my new favorite shirt. I finally got my copy last week and wore it to a birthday party among geeky friends last night. Out of the 16 attendees, 10 commented on either the humor or the art. And I'm pretty sure 2 of them will buy one for themselves.

I'm just going to say this, since none of the original ranters are left to say it for themselves (as far as I can see); It was never about cute vs. artsy, it was about high quality fresh ideas vs. formulaic rehashed derivatives.

My wallet would prefer a break too, what with the whole Winter Workout too. But lets just say that it's NOT out of the realm for Nevermore to get caught up in the current 4-way between 18-21.

I stand corrected - partially. I still think it boils down to cute vs. arty, at least in part. Most of the shirts that were lambasted for being derivitive were cute and most of the shirts called fresh were arty. Some of those arty shirts that were praised were highly derivitive - I'm basically ancient, so my knowledge of t-shirt graphics goes back farther than most folks. As Narf likes to say, it's often just a matter of taste

Despite what certain ssssssegments of the woot population believed about the rest of us, we are capable of reading reems of text, from engaging narratives to rambling rants. I read those rants. Once you sifted through the insults, allegations, and unfocused chatter--there was, at base, some of the argument you are talking about.

Of course the problem never admitted too in that type of thread was those ratners had a big issue with people's freedom to choose what they wanted. They never used the, "Here, let me show you something better that you might enjoy more," tactic to persuade people.

Those rants were typically "You simpletons! How dare you breathe the same air as me and call yourselves human! If the drooling massses of this community knew what was good for them they wouldn't vote for or buy this garbage! This is just like when Abe Lincoln was...(etc)" rant continues for two more pages of bizarre "examples" from history, science and the animal kingdom and manages to insult 95% of the population along the way

The zombies seem to be safe for the moment, so I'll hold off on my purchase until the need arises. Acquired Taste was my very first woot shirt (bought the day after it debuted due to the sell-out), and it has a special place in my heart because of that. It's my favorite woot shirt, and I definitely need a back-up.

Staff

Like the sands through an hour glass, so t-shirts pass through our lives and into the ether, lost to the ghosts of time. Which is kind of a melodramatic way of saying that it's Monday again, and we've made our Reckoning cut. The seven lowest sellers of last week are on their way out the door, but you like what you see you can still pick one up on our Reckoning page until midnight tonight. So check it out, because today's your last chance for:

Not the first time I helped "save a shirt". Triage, Unstealthiest Ninja, and You Can't Catch Me are a few others that come to mind too.

It's not like I have any personal gain for it surviving another week ... well, nevermind.

And WootBot showed up for work today!

just curious...i see a lot of loyalty towards certain shirts (nevermore, aquired tasted, etc). why do we like shirts to stay alive for a long time? i mean, once we have it, wouldn't we just want to move on to see new product? i must understand how the wooter mind works so i can assimilate.
