Over and over. Call in. "Oh, i'm sorry, it's all out of stock now but our system only updates once an hour."

Yeah! Basement done! Shower taken! Dog walking about to commence.

Hubby finally agreed that the desk in sons room need to be taken apart.
Nice desk, but huge. Made for the old computers .

Son wants to use the one he has at the apartment

Now, he could have done this months ago, but the night before is better than nothing.

Wait.

Aren't I suppose to be walking the dog?

Oh yeah.

Dog.

See you later!

Ice, I saved a post from you about asbestos tiles. It is a 9x9 and the basement was most likely finished in the 50's of 60's.

Ivory 6 to 1. 6 water to 1 ivory?

Not doing it yet, but we most likely will before we have a professional come in and finish the basement, which is on the list.
Of course nothing has ever come off the damn list, so it is a moot point. Except we should get rid of them if we ever sell too.

We gutted the upstairs when we moved in, so no lead paint or asbestos there anymore.

Some of them are popping up on their own and a few are breaking.
Am I going to die??? I'm just chucking them into the trash.

Now that I'm taking your word for safe removal, how do you know how to get rid of them?

Spent most of yesterday and will spend most of today cleaning the basement....well the "finished" half.

There isn't any ceiling, so the ceiling is just the joists. I started wiping them with a wet cloth....UGH! Dirty!

Too bad it can't be power washed! That would work!

They are most likely asbestos.
1 part ivory to 6 parts water. Keep everything moist not wet with a hand held mister (like a old windex spray bottle)
It would be concidered hazardous waste, however double wrap it in heavy plastic bags and then seal it with duct tape. I don't want to know what happens to it from there..

here is the method

Section 4 is the method for removing the tile, section 5 is the method for removing the glue which is also probably "hot".

* leagal disclaimer: it is reccomended you hire a professional (however in most states what you do in your own home is nobody's business)

In the end only kindness matters

Poof: 30% chance of malignancy based on biopsy. Ultrasound didn't look bad. Biopsies are strange in the thryoid. They use a very fine needle so they miss a lot of stuff. The cells were undererminded which I think ment they couldn't tell. The other 5 sticks didn't get enough cells due to the calcification. The autocorrect is on and I don't know how to turn it off.

I really think they are being cautious. I could have had it re done in 4 to 6 months but I wanted to get it out and get on with the rest of my life. Doc said it was not major surgery. Three day recovery. Once I ate a lot of chocolate and sat in the sun I was pretty cool with it. Tomorrow!

Evening all. How goes it?

FYI: I just finished Betty White's latest book - If You Ask Me (and you probably won't). Great and easy read. Very entertaining and thoughtful too. She writes all her books herself (no ghostwriting) in longhand! I may check out some of her other books.

Ver3 was a trooper for immunizations! Not a single tear or cry, he did jerk a little for the last one.

I took a nap and I'm already tired. And I burned olive oil to my pan while trying to cook while video chatting.... and I don't have any steel wool.

Good morning everybody! Thanks for the good wishes. I go to the surgeon Feb 7. He is at Northside/St. Joe's. The hospital has a good reputation and the surgeon has a good reputation so I think I'm doing about as good as could be unless I went to the Mayo Clinic or somewhere like that.

Oh and I got a hand me down 1st gen Ipod Touch, updated the iOS and downloaded a running app! It was a challenge since it won't run the latest iOS.

Definitely on the mend, but now SO is down for the count. Sigh. At least I didn't make him sick--sinusitis isn't really contagious. Means our weekend plans likely won't happen, but that's ok.

Joyner--good wishes on the surgery. Agreed, best to just move forward!

Waiting for the movers.
That is it.

Except hubby decided he would go see Pink Floyd's The Wall.
I could have ordered tickets yesterday , or maybe even the day before.

As usual, last section.
Yankee Stadium. We better bring binoculars.
Outside, so hubby is a little less worried about how loud it is.
