It shouldn't take long to establish a hierarchy. It may need a couple of skirmishes but soon one will dominate. I suspect it'll be Punkin on the top.

Hate to tell you this, but I have had a cat for 8 years that my dog (a rescue shih tzu who was to quote the sheriff "the leader of a pack of vicious dogs) still bosses around. She just HAS to be dominant. The cat climbs up to the top of the cat tree, and there looks quite smug and in charge of all he surveys. On the ground level, though, it is still the dog in charge.

Everybody who has been praying and sending good thoughts for SIL, I have taken a snip from a copy of an email he just sent to friends (known friends I should say), and I know he would want me to quote here:

" I wanted to thank you for your thoughts and prayers. They make me feel loved and give me inspiration to continue fighting. I will keep you posted on the progress in the next few days."

Joyner - yes regular florescent lights give me migraines. I have to keep trips to "industrial" places minimal. At the University I knew every spot that used different lighting. Of course natural light filters the effect. There is a huge sun roof in the mall where I got sick from the CFLs, but on that day there was a foot or so of snow and ice on it. I had a professor with the same problem, his office light was never on. He told us to just come in. At IDFG and when I had offices at the U, we used halogens or desk lights to reduce the flicker effect. My eyes actually detect the flicker of florescent lights. I can also see the refresh on old monitors and some TVs.

Kdc - Xena is gorgeous, I hope she and pumpkin sort out ownership in a friendly manner. What does nephew think of Auntie's dog?
