If anything, I'll kennel the dog before I lock up the cat.

I kennel Rusty. He likes it. It sleeps in there a few hours a day when I'm home, with the door open.

But he is only in there for 4 to 6 hours. Not the 10 he would have to be if I worked.

Yeah, the only thing I have to do is feed the cat on a raised something-or-another. This house has a bay window with a ledge. It's by the kitchen table so I just put 2 chairs in front of it. He eats there and Maisy can't bother him. Luckily she's not a litter box spelunker. The beagle we had was and we had to keep litter box behind a child gate.

Has anybody used Expedia or Orbitz or Travelocity, any of the others? Do you think it's better than calling a hotel direct? Any problems?

I've used Obitz, Travelocity, and Priceline. I've also booked directly with hotels. It's worth checking the online deals for the hotel and compare them to the travel sites.

Most often, the deals you find online (either hotel or travel site) will beat any price you get by calling them.

I've used expedia.
I use it as a guide and then call the hotel directly and asked for their best deaal, quite often they'' have some unadvertised promotion that'll beat the online price. If it is a chain I'll call the hotel directly not the reservation line.
I've never had any problem either way.

I've used those, as well as HotelsDirect, and calling the place in question directly. Never had any problems. Just depends on the hotel and the season--if there's a big event in town, a lot of the time the hotel won't have the best prices.

You're very welcome. Moe's is the closest to fast food that we'll eat. That it is also close to the house is unrelated, I'm quite sure. ;)

Yep. My SO = dougall.

And he is tall...compared to most people, anyway. He's about 6'4. I was sitting down to take the picture, so he doesn't actually have to duck to avoid the ceiling.

I've used them a long time ago for hotels. Orc used Orbitz for the airlines this time.

Check the hotel websites, some of them are putting better deals there than what they let the group sites have. Also direct calling a particular hotel can be good, the local management may have a lower than corporate price they can offer to boost their occupancy, but that's not extremely common.
