joyner wrote:She is fine. I took her back to the nursing home before they called the funeral home and she was able to tell her Grand Mother good bye. It seemed to make her feel much better. One of the last really coherent conversations we had with my Mom was several years ago before she went from the family care home to the nursing home. My Mom told Daughter2 that she was so happy when she found out we would be related and that she loved her all her life. Daughter2 is adopted and my Mom was like a kid in a candy store to have a grand baby. She always responded to her up until the last couple of months. I loved watching their relationship.

I really believe as part of sex ed, the kids should see the joy adoption brings to a family.

No babies in the family were as exciting as my cousin's adopted kids.

I'm pro choice, but each choice should be shown to the kids from all sides. Before they are old enough to be i that situation.

sort of. After talking to both of them separately - I realized that neither really wanted niece to move back in. Sis finally fessed up that she would rather her stay with me.

So I decided not to waste my time. We went over there and talked some, and they are going to work separately on talking about anything they need to

but the pressure is off b/c niece is moving in, so sis is being nice and everyone is happy.

I'm just crowded.

And now I have a cat, a dog and a kid who follow me from room to room LOL!!

Edit: overall things are going well. We will finish getting the furniture and things she needs next weekend, as well as cleaning her room at her mom's. It was raining too much this weekend to move big stuff and she worked both days.

I thought Madonna looked awkward through most of it.

4 years ago? Yeah! That means oldest niece of that family is graduating college! I might just see the ring!

I will take a picture and post it if I do.

Friggin fireworks.
A couple of times a week someone is setting off fireworks in the park.
Then Rusty eats what is left.
I have to do a grid search to pick up all the cardboard left behind.

It is the cops fault. They didn't let anyone set off any fireworks on the 4th and now people have stockpiles they want to get rid of.

Howdy folks. Went and enjoyed some quiet time with a margarita and chips/queso at Fuzzy's Tacos. I think that may be my new Sunday evening tradition. I've done it a couple times now and I like it.

Edit:

Almost forgot....

Morning wooters!

Joyner - Sorry to hear about the loss. Totally understand the mixed emotions when a loved one with Alzheimer's passes. Had to go through that with my grandmother. Still not sure if it's easier or harder to say goodbye when they've functionally been gone for some time already.

and don't want to forget: ((AZG)) Not sure why he needs the hugs and all, but might as well jump on the bandwagon. nice to see some love in here with all the not-so-happy news that seems to keep rolling through.

Whew, back home. Service was very nice. I'm back in my jeans and sneakers. Going to decompress a while. Everybody behaved. Hubby didn't slug anybody. Daughter didn't holler at anybody. I didn't collapse in a heap. (Funerals are sometimes very exciting in the South). Both hubby and I are only children now. Cousins are all far away. So no family to fight with!

I can understand the possibility of your collapsing, but please provide details as to why daughter would have yelled at someone or hubby would have slugged somebody.

Damn, they added a show of The Wall at yankee stadium.
I can get much better tickets. Don't feel like selling the ones I have.
It didn't give me great tickets, just better than what I have.
Plus I won't pay over $111 a ticket (with all the tax and stuff they add on)
I would expect perfect tickets for any more, not still way back and high.
