Depends on the type of polish and how harsh a remover you need to get it off the surface. I've seen acetone eat the finish on linoleum. My Mom uses some polish that has a special remover. I don't know what kind of damage that stuff can do. Personally, I don't wear a lot of polish anymore.

evening all.

30 more days for niece to get her license. I've only had primary taxi duty for 3 weeks and I'm so ready for her to drive herself!

She's already driving you crazy.

Although she's living with you, can't Mom help out some with the driving?

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Just getting ready to order another case of Puffs from Amazon (my usual 200 count, 12 pack) when I discovered they have a 600 count box. That would be huge! Same price, so I'll stick to my 200.

I just hate having to stay awake to go pick her up from work.

I don't mind, but now that I know she is so close to being able to drive herself, the days are dragging...

Her mom is taking her to work quite a bit. picking up falls on me. I can't take her, I don't get home in time.

Edit: I find the fact that her mom is so willing to pick her up from school, take her to work, etc amusing - as when niece lived there she gave her hell every time she asked for a ride and told her no a LOT.

Hi, back again. I was seated on a vanity stool when the bottle slipped out of my hand - it fell about 2 feet (?) - I am not good with estimating! It splashed on the tub, on the linen closet door, the wall, and of course, the ceramic tile floor. I quickly tried to wipe it up, but it dried instantly (never did on my nails). I finally just opened a bottle of nail polish remover and got it all up (some little bit colored the grout and I could not get it all, but I don't think it is that noticable - almost in the closet). Also had to get it off my shoes! I don't think the acetone did any damage as I washed it immediately. I was also seated when the glass slipped out of the door and dropped down on end - I caught the top end. So much fun and exercise. Actually every single muscle in my body feels the effects!

She is probably feeling a tad bit guilty that she found it necessary for her to live away? Of course, she should not, but I guess it would be a natural thing.

Haven't done nights in years (decades) - at least not intentionally (or scheduled) anyway... But, things come up (or go down)

Morning!

Glad you are home, joyner.

Still snow on the ground at work, most had melted at home.

Forgot my drink in the car. Didn't realize it until I was halfway to the office, at which point I didn't feel like walking back. Wups.

Staff

Morning all.

Just got word that my ex's sister passed away this morning after a battle with ALS. She'd been sick even before the ex's problems in 2010. They thought it was a stroke at first. She was finally diagnosed early this winter as things quickly progressed.

MIL has lost 2 children in 9 months. Can't imagine.

Son won't be able to go up for the funeral. He's in his final 2 weeks of this quarter at school.

Good morning everyone. Oven dude to be here shortly.

Sorry about the bad news TT. Bad timing for son.

Joyner, so glad you're back with us. But wait, didn't you bake something for breakfast? Are you slacking off just because you had some surgery?

Last day of good weather here, then supposed to get lots of rain and maybe some snow and definitely cold.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

It's still morning!

Good morning, all. I appear to have the lovely sinus megacold/maybe flu that's going around lately. However, it's more annoying than debilitating at this point.

So much for those movie plans I had later.

I'm just hanging out, really.

Morning everyone. Joyner, glad you are home OK. TT - sorry for your and your son's loss. Just purchased the Home Woot steam mop - I should have had it yesterday. Pix from the weather happenings yesterday are horrifying. Such an early hour for a tornado -always thought they were a late afternoon, evening thing.

Sunny and warm here today with a nice breeze. I am not going anywhere near a closet or drawers that need to be purged! Gotta go out to fill the pool (expensive water too) as it is "gargling" as I type. It usually takes an hour. Sometimes I forget, and the roar of the cleaner and the pump could wake the dead.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I know. But dealing with some truly annoying work issues and people...argh.

On the plus side, my work has hired Geese Police to address the annual goose invasion. Epic 'testimonial': "Our geese problem at our cemetery was getting worse by the day. We tried different methods such as ground treatments, and Mylar tape blowing in the wind. Nothing worked. We then decided to try the Geese Police. Six months later we have "zero" goose population - no more mess - and happy visitors to the graves. I recommend the Geese Police to anyone who has a geese problem."
